From Thornthwaite to St.Mary's church, then crossing the A66 onto a path that goes to nowhere. Passing through Braithwaite we retrace our journey from a previous video along the Newlands valley to the Swinside-inn where we had a light lunch and a quick lager before returning to Thornthwaite via the Coledale Inn at Braithwaite.......around 8-9miles in total.

Thanks for showing us around the beautiful church Stu, one day I'll get off the bus and have a wander around myself! Newlands looking stunning as ever regardless of what the weathers doing.👍👍

Yes Anthony that church is worth a visit, get off the bus at Thornthwaite(stone shelter) the road is only 50m away to the church on the same side of the road, you probably knew that. I had been planning going up to Dale-head via the newlands valley floor but both times the 'clag' was down so didnt bother............Thanks for watching/commenting.......ATB.....Stu/Wendy..👍👍

Another great video Stu and im pleased to say after watching your Coledale Horseshoe we have booked to return to the Lakes and that is top of our agenda. Its over a year since our last visit. The Church is a lovely gem and its always refreshing to see them open and visitors books available. Lovely video 👍

Thank you both........really hope you get good weather for the lake-district trip.....Newlands valley is lovely if the footpaths are open(when we went two of them were closed due to erosion repairs, although the country lane alternative was nice enough)......the church was a liitle gem and that Ewe-tree arch is much better in ''real-life''......thanks again and enjoy the lakes.......ATVB.....Stu/Wendy....👍👍
