That “bone shaped” item with the hole through it… it’s a heavy necklace piece, the rope goes through those holes. 😂😂😂😂 Thank you all for another great video. ❤❤❤

You guys are a great little unit, from Marie who is the Mammy Peaky to Mr Fox who is the cheeky older son, to Peaky who is the younger son and mummy's favourite and then to Rusty who is Daddy Peaky and who gives sage advice to all the Peaky family. Mammy, stay with your history lessons, they are brilliant and the finds round up is another fantastic idea. Stay Safe & Keep Pulling!!

The "belt buckle" may be a piece of a manure spreader belt chain! The spreader had two flat link chains on either side of the floor to pull the manure towards the back of the machine and the spreader auger/beater. Try looking at a Ferguson or Massey Ferguson 712 spreader.

Chainmail being "Light" is a relative term, if you can call almost 31 kilos "light". (Yeah, I got crazy and made a copy of the chainmail off the Bayeux Tapestery about 55+ years ago.) 5:17 looks to me to be part of a "link belt" chain. Used to connect drive gears. (Those waders should come with a set of belt loops around the top. Please use it. The belt, when cinched up, will stop any amount of water getting inside of you fall or step in a deep hole, and keep you from drowning. Stops the waders from filling up with water.. Saved my life when I went a hole in a stream). I love the history bits. Thank You. They taught nothing but there was a civil war there. That tire rim could make a really nice clock.

The two linked item you wondered if it was a buckle or not. It reminds me of the flat chain mechanism that moves the load of manure in a manure spreader.

Wonderful historic finds! Love the education you provide. That buckle thing; could it be the part that slides onto a belt from which a long dagger and sheath would be suspended on two points? I am at Church during your Premiere, so I can’t enter from Ohio USA 😭

Very informative and entertaining. Your group combine for a wonderful mix of personalities. It is so good you have decided in recent months to add historical information and background. Thoroughly enjoyed. I am glad Marie does the speaking be=cause I still struggle a bit with Peaky's accent. On a personal note, are my eyes telling me that Marie is losing weight? Very good to see. If only she would trim her fringe to about an inch above the eyes. You all are a really kind lot and no selfishness. Full marks.

Hello Peaky's, The item that looks like a belt buckle, looks like 2 links of flat roller chain from old farm equipment. The jewelry looks too nice to be junk jewelry. It might be old "junk" jewelry but I think it would be worth cleaning and putting it on display with some other finds. Something about just doesn't look like cheap modern jewelry... Great video! I look forward to your next adventure..

i thought the battle of Cropredy bridge was during the 17 century. Not in the medieval time era. The original bridge has long since gone it recivied repairs in 1776 and again in 1886 when it was widened on the south side and was then demolished and rebuilt in 1937 due to the bad repaires of the past and the fact it had large trees growing out of the sides. So they had to demolish it to remove the trees and roots and the damage they had done so they could rebuild it. So youll proberly find a lot of building tools mixed in with the old i belive its in exacly the same place. But as you can imagine the river bottom has had a lot of disturbance.

The buckle type item with two links is part of a drive link that was either a drive system with sprockets that the chain belt was part of much like the old drive systems on farming equipment, headers or bailing machinery as looks the old type of system use on the old farming machinery used here in Australia ,. Anyhow that's my guess but at least it will point you in the right direction. Cheers 👍👍👍😎💨🏴‍☠☮☮🌈☕☕💡

Th earliest of the modern, as opposed to Roman canals in the UK were cut in the middle of the 18th century, circa 1740, thus it would be almost impossible to find medieval remnants in a canal. Furthermore, the "plaited bracelet" could not be medieval because the medieval period (The Middle Ages) is counted as the thousand years from 500 ad to 1300 ad; this 'artifact' counting the shortest period, would be 223 years old . Even if the canal could be 200 years older, ferrous metal rusts away at a rate of approximately 0.5 mm per year depending on the amount of oxygen in the water, nothing would be left. The 'bracelet' is more likely to be a modern 'copy' of which thousand were made. The same theory applies to the "chain mail'. I am not an historian or scientist so I could be mistaken.
