I'm going to try again. Cross referencing the Cepheid video: Luna-"Raw thew and tendons strewn in a tapestry; "Man Eater" they called her." May or may not be relevant, because Hydra is referred to as the "God eater" here. Gaia-"The fallen one spoke, confess to me your greatest desire, and with this decaying body, I will bloom for you." It's interesting to note that Hydra mentions that she was born from a curse. Which may or may not mean Gaia botched something while trying to help Luna, and made her something much worse, because Gaia was dying. Hera-"All who are mortal learn helplessness before god." Combined with this song, maybe this how Hydra sees herself, as some great savior. Or alternatively, she is mocking the goddess who "saved her life" here, and is reveling in the irony that by trying to save the goddesses from that sickness, she unknowingly sealed their fate. Furthermore, I get the feeling of irreverence from this choice of song, which seems very in line for Hydra and her lack of respect for those in charge. Or maybe it's a little bit of both? It's interesting to note that the "Heratic" tattoo is covered up here, possibly symbolic of Hydra concealing her true nature. Edit: One other detail I finally noticed, Hydra tells Terra that " Your hair looks like moonlight." In the scene where Terras' wings are restrained by Hydras' snakes. So until Rafscrap herself says otherwise, I'm convinced that Hydra is mind-shattered Luna reborn.

Whenever there’s Chase’s work, there is a banger 💪 Is the deity nice or are they corrupted? Because this cover made me double guess what I’ve seemed to understand from the beginning MV Goddess and now I’m wondering if Hydra is a victim from whatever work has been done 👀 (I am incredibly late in the OC lore 😭) It’s so cool to see the design animated all together! That art, WOW. Religious, yet not completely religious, if that makes sense? This song makes it sound like Mary was the sinner nailed to the cross and singing this while she was dying. I should stop talking about religion. That gave me such GOOSEBUMPS. Your voice, as always, sends shivers down my spine in all the best ways. Gezeus in the background ever so softly, as if he were Death (or Grace?) opening your eyes ("Was blind/ But now/ I see") one final time, to see the truths of the world... just. Wow. Ever since I discovered you two years ago, I have been enchanted by your covers. A moth to a dazzling flame if you will. These covers.. they way they are presented and calibrated to create a mood and story of your own choosing is inspiring. The sound reminds me of someone I was once close to. A bittersweet taste that lingers in my mouth. These musical masterpieces never fail to create a narrative in my head. We all know how excellent this work is. Incredible as always, RafScrap! The combination of a minor key and your dulcet tones makes this song sound far more sinister than the original, and the visuals match it perfectly while making a downright terrifying implication for the lore. I still don't quite understand the lore going on here, but it definitely doesn't seem good if Hydra is being crowned for anything...also, thorns seem like they are going to irritate the hair-snakes something fierce. Looking forward to more glimpses into your universe, as well as excellent new covers! Happy August (that makes ONE of us, anyway).
