Refrigerator Pickles Recipe (Food Network Recipe and adjusted to flavor)

Ingredients:
1 cup rice wine vinegar or distilled white vinegar
Kosher salt
1 tsp whose black peppercorns
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
6 sprigs of fresh garden dill
3 cloves garlic
1 1/2 pounds cucumbers, ends trimmed
Directions:
Bring the vinegar, 1 1/2 cups water and 1 tablespoon salt to a boil in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sale it dissolved. About 3 minutes. Remove from heat
Place peppercorns, red pepper flakes, dill and garlic in a 1 quart mason jar. Pack the cucumbers in the jar as tightly as you can
Pour the vinegar over the cucumbers so the cucumbers are completely covered. Leave out to cool and allow to reach room temperature.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours
The pickles will keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Check out my channel for all your beginner homesteading needs! (Edit for those that have asked 1 1/2 cups of water with the vinegar. You may let the water cool if you want. But we haven’t noticed a difference if we don’t.

What do you do with them after 24 hours of refrigeration? How long are they good for doing this method?

Thanks for your comment. I believe I say in the description of the video. After 24 hours eat them. 🥒 They last about 2-3 weeks. ❤️

I put carrot slices in mine along with peppercorn. I do same method as you but I wonder how long does it last in the fridge? Does the heated brine cook the pickles and make them less crispy?

No they do not!!! Super crispy. Just like store bought dill pickles!!! They last a few weeks in the fridge. We end up giving them away to coworkers and friends but so much be fun to make!

Yes 1 1/2 cups of water and salt. (The full instructions are in the description of the video). Enjoy! We have made so many we are giving them away to friends and family. It was a great harvest. My mother in law says "These are the best pickles I have ever had!" Have fun!

1 1/2 cups with 1 cup vinegar so mix however much you need to fill however many jars you have.Sorry the recipe is in the video description which I know can be hard to find with the shorts. Hope that helps
