Thank you Peter. I had to sand and redo the stain on all of the wood but maybe t was worth it to keep some of the truck interior to keep the Mark 3 look. That was my dilemma with replacing the center console and losing the factory look, but in the end, the new console is much more functional and I like the look.
Hi, I'm in Germany and my 93 Truck also have allot of wood work in it... She was built in Fort Wayne, Indiana... I'm not sure, but I believe GM sent in those days a certain amount to a private company to do all of that.... Love your steering wheel! And seats look great 👍
Oh that’s amazing Leon, You are right, GM sent some trucks to several different after market companies to have them do some custom work. Mine went to a company called Mark lll.

Poppa G..idid some research on some woodgrain pieces comparison at this one wood craft store over by where I stay..and came out to be "Mahogany Wood " there's 4 Types of Mahogany Wood..there's the Original #1 Genuine Mahogany, yours are the African Mahogany kind & etc.....the Genuine mahogany is a rare piece,.that are kind of hard to find ....Just a heads-up !..I almost forgot to Thank you for responding back brother 🙏 thank you Poppa G..keep up the good work
Oh wow, I never would have guessed African mahogany. That’s interesting. Seems an expensive choice but I’m sure they use it for a reason. I’ll look in my garage at the kind of stain and clear I put on it tomorrow.
Oh that’s awesome brother. I love the color. Thought long and hard about the color and trying to paint it myself and it was a lot of work, but I’m so glad I decided to do it. This Particular truck was my father‘s and he bought it new so I knew I was going to keep it in the family.
I have Mark 3 also. And wanting to upgrade the seats. My dilemma was I didn't want to get rid of my highback seats. The seats you installed seemed to be highbacks as well. And I like it!! 👍😊 I just might be doing the same thing, since most shops want to over charge you, and keep your ride for at least 3 months! No diss to shops in general..
Well done that looks like a much nicer place to be. What’s the going rate on the console and the seats? Looking to do something similar in my OBS ford and have noticed that seats from sedans tend to be cheaper than late model trucks
I found that center console from a company in Asheville,NC that takes new cars and converts them into police cars. They were going out of business so I got it for $50. If you look them up on eBay, they go for $400-$450. The seats were tricky because I wanted leather but most leather seats have full power and I didn’t want power seats. But I found those from a guy here in town and he had them in a old Camaro but just bought new seats for it. So I got the seats for $100. But Most seats will run around $400 a pair.
I guess I’m not sure how the jump seat screws went in to be secured…they looked to be horizontal while the mounts on the floor were flat…did I miss something??
Sorry that’s not on camera. There’s a 1” square tubing frame in the shape of a H that I bolted to the tunnel and it has nutserts that fastener to the center console/ jump seat. You can buy the fittings at obsoutpost.com/
What type of wood are these woodgrain pieces made out of..What do you think..would it be maplewood ,oak oakwood pinewood, burlwood etc..im having a hard time figuring it out

ezeduke, I like the way they sit. My eye height is about the middle of the windshield. I have no problem with vision even with my 4” cowl hood. Plus it makes you feel like the truck is lower to the ground and with the center console up a little higher it reminds me of my old race car driven days. Having said that, when my daughter drives it, I have a couple of knee cushions from Home Depot to build her up a few inches.

Thank you very much Robhymiaml. The color code is PRV or Velvet Red Pearl. I used PPG shop line plus paint brand. With there dark sealer undercoat to make it the darker shade. The clear coat is also by PPG.
Yes a few inches lower. I love them. It puts my line of sight in the middle of the windshield. I’m 6’0 tall. I do have a cushion to slide in for my daughter when she drives it.
I bought those on Amazon. They are called “Stinger Select SS69PUG 6X9 Truck Speaker Enclosure,Gray”. I like them but I’m going to upgrade to a box with individual tweeters, sub and woofers for a better sound.
Sure you can Kernie. Be aware that the passenger side is narrower. As long as a seat will fit that side, it will work on the drivers side. Then measure what you have left between the two seats and find you a console that fits. MIne is tight but I like the tight race car feel. Am I’m a Big dude.
@@poppagsworld7294 I have another question that maybe you can help me with. Rims and tires, standard for the truck is 245 75r 16. How big can I go with no lifting and still have no rubbing? Can I move to 17 or 18. I have the 2500 4x4 HD, 8hole 6. 5 .
@@MrCanoeman I am still rocking the factory rims that I painted, so I can’t help with that one. I do plan an upgrade and have asked around, I’m gonna go with 18’s.
I’m sorry johnnie. I actually though the seers and frame railing in a dumpster a few days ago. Was hoping the guy hadn’t picked it up to take it to the landfill yet, but it’s gone. I hate that.
@@poppagsworld7294 sorry for the late reply. I actually have 2015 Silverado seats in my 94 but the previous owner installed them on the factory 94 brackets. I’m sitting extremely high so that’s why I was going to get factory seats. Instead I think I’m going to purchase low profile brackets or just mount directly to the floor like you did. The 2014+ seats are high so doing that I should be at the correct height.
@@irishuwould5185 I don’t blame you at all. I used some 1/2” spacers to get the track off the floor so it can slide better. But I love the low stance. Makes me feel like the truck is super low.
