IAR Indonesia are currently caring for over 100 orangutans at the rescue centre. Every single orangutan has their own story of survival and require round-the-clock care by an expert team of vets and keepers.
Some have been rescued from captivity and carry the mental and physical burdens of their past, many have watched as their forest home was torn down around them, leaving them stranded and starving.
No matter what they have gone through, or what their needs are, the team are dedicated to ensuring that every orangutan receives the love and care they need to recover.
For many orphaned orangutans, this can take years of costly medical treatment and rehabilitation. Without a mother to learn from, it is up to the keepers to teach the essential survival skills they will need to survive in the wild.

The care and dedication poured into this rehabilitation programme has resulted in amazing outcomes for orangutans that once had little hope. From a lifetime behind bars to a life high up in the branches, many have gone on to thrive in protected rainforests.
This Giving Day for Apes, help us cover the costs of the expensive rehabilitation the team provides. DONATE this Golden Ticket hour and you could help us win a $250 prize that we can put towards this life-saving work!
