Here is the final practice display, on the Friday before the Flying Legends Airshow at IWM Duxford, by The Horsemen Flight Team: the worlds only P-51 Mustang Aerobatic Display Team.
Steve Hinton flying the lead in the Norwegian Spitfire Foundation's North American P-51D Mustang, 'The Shark', G-SHWN.
Ed Shipley, flying in the left wing position in Comanche Warbirds P-51B Mustang, N515ZB, 'Berlin Express', and
Dan Friedkin, flying right wing, in Comanche Warbirds P-51D Mustang, N357FB, 'Frenesi'.
The team were one of the headline acts during the Flying Legends Airshow which was held at Duxford Aerodrome over the following 2 days. Unfortunately P-51 'Berlin Express', which was flown across the atlantic ocean from the USA only days before and especially for the event, suffered a canopy failure whilst flying on the following day, the first day of the show. The canopy plexiglass shattered and broke away, causing damage to the aircrafts tail surfaces and the aircraft was not able to fly again during the airshow. This practice display was therefore to be one of the only times that all three of these aircraft displayed with The Horsemen, during their visit to the UK, for which P-51 'Frenesi' had also been shipped across the Atlantic especially for.
