Welcome back all you Amazing people! I know this is a little out of the norm since it's Easter related and not Halloween related. But trust me set back and have some fun watching this comical how to on creating an amazing paper mache Easter egg!
To start this project out you will need the following:
1. Balloons
2. Tape
3. paper mache paste
4. stips of paper
5. Knife or dremel tool for cutting
6. Joint compound
7. Sand paper
Ok... Here we go! The first step in creating this amazing paper mache Easter egg is to blow up a balloon. I know this first step is extremely hard, but it is a necessary step.. LOL Once your balloon is blown up ad tied off, you will want to tape down the nub from tying it shut.
Next step grab your favorite paper mache paste and start covering the balloon with classic strip mache. I would do at least 6 coats of strip mache, remember the more layers you have the stronger your piece will be. Once your mache layers are completely dry we will cut a hole in the bottom the create a flat spot for it to set on and a big hole in the side of it so we can later put all the easter goodies inside of it. Now take the bottom piece you cut off turn it upside down and reinstall it to the egg with some hot glue and them some more strip mache for strength.
Once the holes are cut and the mache is dry from reattaching the bottom, we will use some joint compound thinned out with mache paste and spread it over the egg. Let that dry and then we will come back and sand it smooth!
Now just seal it with a primer and paint any color or design of your choosing! Add some easter grass to the inside along with a stuffed animal, easter eggs and some candy, and you have an amazing paper mache easter egg, that you created!
