Phalaenopsis Galore! Yes, please! I always love seeing everything you have in bloom! :-) It provides inspiration and helps to moderate our expectations of our own orchid collections because not everything is blooming all the time. It's fun to estimate based on size of a collection and what genus of orchid we have, how many will be in bloom in a given season, what is the potential of a certain orchid and what we want to add to our wish lists. Also, thanks for sharing your perception of orchid fragrances. I love beautifully scented flowers and having an idea of what an orchid may smell like is a fun bonus!
Last year I only had one orchid, a phal. Amabilis that I "kidnapped" from my grandma after like 5-6 years in the same pot, same bark mix it came in from the flower shop. I expected to go down in pot size cause it smelled so wasted, but there were maybe 2 dead roots. I rushed to the shop for the biggest transparent pot they had which looks like a bucket 😂 but has great drainage and lets me see the roots and media. It grew 2 new super long super big leaves and bloomed. I got 4 super big flowers. Also, during the past year, I've aquired 2 more regular size Phals, 3 mini Phals, a Wilsonara, a Beallara, the famous Nelly Isler, one regular size Oncidium sold to me as a mini, an actual mini Oncidium, a Cymbidium, and a Vanda. It's because of you, Dani. You're fueling my plant "problem". 😂❤ Edit: and a paphiopedilum. I ordered that one online yesterday, it hasn't reached me yet.
OMG! I adore Phalaenopsis! I can simply not pass by a flower shop, see a gorgeous mini (or regular one for that matter 😊) and take one home… my boyfriend keeps wondering how they are multiplying so rapidly 😂 he feels like he’s living in a jungle ❤ Love it ❤❤❤❤ That Bronze Maiden is spectacular
I feel the same about the NoID white phal. I spotted one among many dozens of mixed phal at a big box store and I am so glad that I did not talk myself out of buying it. What a standout pure white. The tiny bit of yellow pollen is hidden from view as well.
A Phalaenopsis that I need to recommend is Phalaenopsis 'Craft'. A beautiful little phalaenopis with a beautiful flower shape and with an amazing pattern on it. It almost looked like a Vanda or Ascocenda to me.
Nothing like a solid white or primarily white phalenopsis for that classic elegant look.I've got 2 big ones that are almost all white... I've got 1 with a tiny streak of yellow across the lip & 1 with a really lovely little horizontal streak of purple across the middle. It's amazing to me how beautiful the humble affordable phalenopsis hybrids from grocery stores can look after a few years of good care.So far I've got 7 lovely phals, these truly are charming wonderful plants😄💚.
I love phals! Now, I'm kicking myself...I saw a pure white phal bloom today in a garden center. I almost bought it...almost. Now, I'm sad that I didn't get it. 😢
Yes, please do Phalaenopsis Parade! I'm on the learning curve to care for my first orchid ever (Phalaenopsis), would be lovely to meet new potential lovelies ! 🏵
@@johncspine2787 I have it for 6 months now and really enjoy watching how it responses to what I do. Right, it takes some practice to understand what's going on with plant and medium, I'm going through it... The lady started blooming for the second time now, 6+ unopened flowers. I was planning to cut the flower spike when it finishes and switch her to vegetation growth, but I just yesterday spotted the new flower spike inception between the leaves! Just wow.
Phalaenopsis schilleriana has been sitting at the top of my wish list for some time now. Nevertheless, I feel that Phal. Yaphon Golden Leopard will soon come to keep him company !
It is hard to pick one when they are so varied and I like something about each of them. To make a selection, I pick Orchid World Bonnie Vasquez as it looks tropical.
I would love to see all of your phalenopsis that are blooming. In fact, I would love to see any kind orchids that are blooming. I remember that you said the “what’s in bloom” videos didn’t have as many views but I miss them, especially now as I am ready to buy some more. I took notes and wrote all of these down. 😊
Phalaenopsis galore……yes please! I can never get too many phal videos. If the schilleriana wasn’t so expensive I would grab one asap. Thanks for sharing some of your beautiful phals. Look forward to more.
Yes, please!! I would love to see Phalaenopsis Galore, OMG!! I love all of the ones you showcased today, and I do have the Schilleriana, and I am so in love with her.
I love when you do Phal videos!! I would definitely pick the schlleriana (spelled wrong) the blooms are beautiful and fragrant and the foliage is so beautiful!!
Hi Danny, I just watched this video again (just in the mood today to relax and see your beautiful orchids in bloom). I absolutely fell in love with Yaphon Golden Leopard with all the yellow markings on the white background 🥰 but sadly my searches aren't finding it at any of the US growers I have shopped with...oh well, it's now on my wish list and I'll settle for watching this video from time to time to appreciate her gorgeousness.
Great video, thanks for sharing your beautiful blooms ! Love phals and definitely up for the phal galore video! I love phal Schleriana and yours look spectacular! Thanks for sharing and happy growing.
Wow your bronze maiden is very orange! Mine are both blush pink with the thinner flower shape, though one is closer to peach when it opens. They have silver leaves with pepper spots. Very unusual and beautiful plants, definitely a must for phal collections!
I would L😍VE to see a Phals in bloom video. If I had to chose from these 5, I’d choose the Shilleriana or the Yaphon Golden Leopard🤩 I actually have the pure white one! All of these are gorgeous though.
I have two bellinas, one is crossed with a gigantea, and they just take forever to grow or they might be stunted trying to adapt to my environment. I have a schilleriana (sp) too. They are all young plants so I am hoping to not kill them. My rootless mini phal is finally blooming and I get to see her color, very dark purple with white spots. Love them all. My babies.
Phals seem to be very happy in my home, so, yes, please do introduce me to more varieties! I love that Schilleriana. I have a mini purple hybrid from the grocery store that blooms generously, and now wonder whether it had a Schilleriana parent. I have one called "Ambonosa" that has a similar appearance to your Bonnie Vasquez, and I'm very interested to see whether it will rebloom on the old spikes. Do you happen to know, Danny? If not, I can wait . . . time will tell.
Beauty overload! I'm still hesitant 'bout the Golden Leopard because of its washed out flowers as they age... I would add to this list another Schilleriana offspring - phal. Kaoda Twinkle Chocolate drops. My fave phal. I even have two of them. You had it at some point but we stopped seeing her. I die for the sepals/petals and lip contrast 🥰🥰
Wow, I love your channel more every time I watch you! My choices from today’s video are schilleriana and Bonnie Vasquez. I’m now on the hunt for them both. Luckily we have a grower not too far from Palm Springs, in Landers, CA, called Gublers Orchids.
Hello Danny!! I have the Schilleriana and she's everything you say, can't wait for mine to grow a big and healthy as yours. My wishlist orchids are the bronze maiden and gigabell, as soon as I see them, I'm snatching them up right away... Thanks for sharing
I just recently bought a schilleriana. It has a bud but has not bloomed yet. The leaves are spectacular though! I got a few other phals that should be fragrant as well, although they have a spike, they have not set any buds yet. I'm partial to fragrant orchids.
Amazing!! I just bought Phals mini mark (and other 13 orchids among different oncidiums, miltoniopsis, zygopetalum, brassia and coelogyne christata). Next would be a Nelly Isler (i just got 2 of them but they aren't in great shape), possibly a compact cattleya or epydendrum and tolumnias (which are unobtainable aside the online orchids vendors). BTW,
yes! I would definitely be interested in phalaenopsis galore video! 😃 this is my favorite orchid species. I am still trying to find my wish list schilleriana online, as there are none in shops in my area - mid texas
I bought a Phal. Schilleriana a few months ago and she’s blooming her first spike. It’s a variety called ‘Pink Butterfly’ but I can’t detect a fragrance yet. :( Next on my list is the Bronze Maiden. It’s only available from one orchid nursery in the US that doesn’t have the greatest rep and is very expensive. 3rd would be Bonnie Vasquez but I’ve yet to grow a summer bloomer. Thanks for the videos!
My Phal ambionensis is dying. I’m trying very hard to help it. I love it as it’s always in bloom. I’m having trouble finding where to purchase another one.
What beautiful orchids! My favorite is the Golden Leopard, defo will find it some how!! I also loved the first one in the intro. Any chance for sharing the name of that one? :) x
Hi Danni, I have a question for you please! If you’re supposed to have orchids in pots with holes for air circulation, why do you have yours in heavy no hole containers? What’s the purpose? Please explain…Lea
Hi Danny, Phalaenopsis Schilleriana has always been on my Wishlist, I was just wondering how beautiful yours is and what variety of Schilleriana was it.
Hi, I just do what I say in my tutorials, they are always linked in description. Here's my katest video on flowers ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s4G8mawk1LA.html
Hi Danni, how do you deal with phals that growing /leaning out of pot. I mean sideways. Especially novelty phals, no matter what, they keep leaning sideways and crawling out of pots.
Hi! Great video! Do you know what factors affect leaf mottling? Your beautiful Schilleriana is a good example where it has one leaf with a second of more solid green. Is it sunlight changes or just random/genetics?
I loved the big white lip phal when you first purchased it and showed us on one of your videos. Impossible to find in Europe right now --- unless anyone has a tip!???
First of all I love your channel💖. But I am totally confused at how to take care of my orchids. Some say never ever put them in a pot! They grow in trees against a stem in a nest of mosses. You’re planting method is different. What to do ? Help 😢
Hi, best thing to do is stick to an author / creator and do exactly what they say to do and see how that works. If you take 100 pieces of information from 100 random people on the internet who say whatever crosses their mind, you will probably fail. So choose one and stick to their advice until you form your own experience and knowledge 😊 good luck!
