I’ve always gone with Philips Hue products over the “other guys” mainly for the quality of their products and devices but also the set-up and installation is turn-key plug&play. Very user friendly 🤙🏼 I would love to have a cinematic set-up like this at home. Movie nights at my place!

I think you did a great job & can relate to the difficulty of explaining the experience. I have a similar home theater setup and I do have quite a number of Philips Hue products, but not for the home theater. It would be awesome to upgrade my home theatre experience like you and your friends did. Especially for the next Expanse & Mandalorian shows. This is awesome. My wife normally does not like things like this but she watched the video with me and actually loved it. It is rare for wife to like and appreciate something as mind-blowing as this. We recently decided to start having a monthly movie nights with family and friends at our home. This would make quite the first impression with guys and gals to have this in our newly purchased home. We are crossing our fingers and wishing for the best. Cool stuff!!!

Who wouldn’t need something like this? Literally a crazy dope setup. Actually better than a movie theater in my opinion. I’m currently remodeling my rec room/bar/theater area and something like would just put it over the top. Had to share the video with friends and family that are avid movie watchers like I am and appreciate adding efx and ambience to your media area. A blessing to whomever you give the setup to. Great system that you installed!That system looks so awesome! My wife and I moved into our forever home 4 months ago. As Covid has changed everybodies life's, we too have been modifying our home towards home entertainment. This video really opened our eyes on interactive lighting and would be the icing on our cake with my current retirement and my wife's future retirement.

There's been no stopping me from turning my entire home into something amazing. Philips light tech is like no other. And hopefully I am one of the lucky ones to win this product.

I did the same 5 yrs ago with adressable led, my old raspberyr pi 1, a usb video capture device and old PSU. Cost me about $60. Was hard to setup and tune for exact colors, but was even more precise a this one from Philips and all around the tv. Now with 4K HDR content on my new tv, I didnt put it back. 4K HDR is hard to downconvert to composite, and colors would be off. This Philips could do the trick for sure, but cost is a bit too much. I kinda miss my old setup, even if this was in the living room and not in the HT room around the projector screen.

We just moved and so many things went wrong. Hue was going to get installed when we moved but the hiccups drained the savings we put aside for it. This is a great opportunity, and a great video!

It’s a shame the sync box don’t support Dolby Atmos, for $250 I returned mine for that reason. It’s really a huge oversight on Phillips part. Love the rest of the hue products even if they are a bit overpriced, the seamless integration and the app make them far superior to other “smart lights” I have used.

Sure, but you pay for quality and it just works. With every other product you don't have this experience. They're definitely pricey but there's almost no other product matching the quality and experience

When I stick a movie on, I want to be watching the movie not some lights going off in my peripheral vision! After all I thought lightstrips behind the TV was to help with the contrast from the brightness coming from the TV being displayed in the darkness of the room! I'm quite sure I wouldn't find this immersive I'd probably find it too distracting! With that being said I take nothing away from your set up and your demonstration! Good job and thanks for posting!

We turn off light while watching movies for a reason and it is the same reason why cinemas turn light off too and they have dark walls so you can concentrate on the screen, having any light outside is distracting and I see this technology as a gimmick maybe it is attractive to some people but I don't see most of the people liking it

That’s different, the ambient light around you doesn’t add any value. Have you ever been to Disneyland and seen Captain EO or been on Star Tours, those have lighting effects similar to this and when you’re watching it, you feel like you’re there. Unless you’ve experienced it, I can assure you it’s not a gimmick. In fact when I have it turned off sometimes, the experience of watching a movie feels boring.

I tried ambilight. Honestly it's the worst for movies. Really annoying even if you have it set up well. A real home theater doesn't have ambilight.

ANYBODY who cares about IMAGE QUALITY and IMAGE PERCEPTION will never have this in their room. This is a gimmick to brag to friends, or to play some slow nature YTB clips. Not for movies.

I've been looking for a device like this that extends the experience beyond the TV and gives me a real immersive experience. I believe this is exactly what I was looking for. I have 70" TV and this would go amazing with my current surround sound set-up. I've given many Philips Hue lights to my friends and family as special gifts, but I only own one light strip that lights a section of my kitchen. :( I wish I have a full kit of Philips hue that I can experience! Nice, very nice. My friend recently bought a Philips TV with this and always wanted to have a way to use it on a non Philips TV. Would love to get this installed in my cinema room, currently its a mish mash of items. I would also love to find a way to get this to work with my projector also but maybe that's a bit too ambitious for now. Great competition

I just purchased a 75” Philips Smart TV (my first Philips Product) and I’m more than happy with it. We’re a big household (mom and 7 brothers/sisters) and watching movies at home together for family movie night are a big thing since it costs too much for us all to go to theaters too often. The only thing that could make our movie watching experience better is The Philips Hue Home setup for a completely more immersive feel.

Just got into lighting, bought some WIZ connected lights (same parent company as Hue) and I after looking at the Philips Hue capabilities I had to go buy me a started kit. I want to keep expanding the set up, the light bars or strips would be a great addition to really bring my living room to life as an entertainment area for my fiance and I.
