Amazing Shots of THE LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY 

I saw Fellowship for my 15th birthday it's opening weekend

I watched them in theaters last year, and sadly, seeing them on the big screen, some of the cracks do start to show in the vfx. But you’re right, 90% of the vfx shots are rock solid and are so much more dynamic than anything being made right now. This trilogy is possibly the single greatest achievement in cinema history.

@@samgraef3028 It's not just the vfx, it's also everything else: the story, the meaning/intentions behind its creation, the sheer dedication put into it, the production. All of these trumps most films today, which are often about identity politics and actually have no significance.

Truly ethereal. I would pay good money to go back in time just to witness that in theaters for the first time all over again. 7yr old me didn't truly appreciate it for what it was!

I was there for all three films, they are truly masterpieces. I was there for Terminator 2 ( I was 7 yrs. old) also, that's another masterpiece.

That's so true - I told myself at the time when I saw it multiple times in theaters that such a prediction would likely be true and that has been the case in spades.... in fact, not only that but movies have only gotten much worse than they used to be since those days. Following LOTR there were other great films (not close to LOTR quality) but great films worthy of purchasing nonetheless...but over the years, especially lately, films have deteriorated in quality immensely.

@@kayakerdude3727 It was the 2000s. Movies were hype and larger than life. Not just Lord of the Rings. But the Matrix trilogy, Pirates of the Carribean and Harry Potter films. Then you had the Star Wars prequels. You had Gladiator. 300, Troy, The Last Samurai. The Transformers trilogy with Michael Bay. It was era of sweeping wide shots and huge explosions, massive set pieces and even bigger battle scenes. The 00s were so hype. War films like Black Hawk Down, games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, Halo, Gears of War. Oh God, the memories XD

@@DestinyAwaits19 We were spoiled at a great time to be alive. I don't have those war video games you mentioned (got a big collection from those days of others and Nintendo hits) but have all those movies. They were so good then. It was also the time Computer Imagery advanced enough to look believable on screen. Not only were the movies good but the special effects alone made so many of them worth to go see - It was the golden age of modern cinema and it sure looks to be over and history... haven't been to a cinema since Top Gun Maverick - Which was a hit because it was in many ways like those old school classics you mentioned from a veteran old school guy who still gets it like Tom Cruise

@@kayakerdude3727 Well it wasn't just movies. It was everything. You had to be there to experience it. Like I said, the Modern Warfare trilogy, Halo, Gears of War. But there was also WWE Ruthless Agression Era with Jim Ross; Goldberg, Triple H, Batista. Jim Ross screaming on the commentary, the pyro technics, Goldberg spearing the living hell out of people, Batista was huge. Then you had Eminem, he was a phenomenon. Em's music was everywhere, Avril Lavign with Sk8er Boi, Evanescence and Bring Me to Life, My Immortal. It was an incredible time.

I never forget. Because I have a photographic memory when it comes to movies. Plus, I watch the _LOTR_ trilogy once a year on my dad's birthday, to honor him after his passing.

Yeah~amazing shots Mostly cuz he has the most expressive and beautiful eyes there. Also of course to show the emotions and struggle with the ring

I would say revenge of the sith but I remembered that it's only 16 years old, but then again, Jurasic Park, Spider man 2, Matrix, empire strikes back and John Carpenter's the thing, but I do agree Lord of the rings is a god darn masterpiece

The only trilogy that overall matches The Lord Of The Rings *in my honest opinion* is Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel, even though you need to watch other things in order to watch Heaven's Feel properly. A lot of people could mention The Godfather trilogy but the last film is not that good. Other is The Human Condition trilogy but I haven't watched it yet, so I don't know.

The 4K versions of the film are a real letdown, unfortunately. The colours are inaccurate (an issue that’s plagued almost all blu-ray releases, unfortunately), and the film grain removal process makes the CGI look universally worse. They also contain no more detail, due to not being true new scans of the film negatives. The HDR is the only good thing about them, visually.

Ur probably not watching on a good tv then, as the 4K versions are amazing

@@oofzma4302 Star Wars 1-6 just accomplished so much more than LOTR better story ( not just people walking for 12 hours),better characters no one was perfect and everyone had problems not just totally good guys killing totally bad guys better acting everyone is great and irreplaceable and obviously the visual storytelling George Lucas the Genius and it completely changed the way movies were made Star Wars were the greatest movies ever made

Star Wars have the most bland, stupidly powerful, unbelievably underdeveloped characters on planet earth. (Except Luke). What the actual fuck does Han Solo do other than look cool. What does Princess Leia do other than creepily kiss his brother. In LOTR the characters have emotion, grief and sadness. They grieve, they actually have feelings. Jesus Christ one of the main characters basically dies at the end because of the aftermaths of war and PTSD. And your telling me that all the characters were perfect. I really don’t care if the effects were groundbreaking for the time or how big an impact it had on sci fi, it is impossible for me to one hundred percent take Star Wars seriously, but with LOTR it is completely different. And btw, visual storytelling my arse. Just a couple puppets playing instruments, I didn’t even create its genre, 2001: A Space Odyssey did. And man the acting in Star Wars 1-3 is laughably bad it’s funny, even comparing the first three Star Wars to LOTR is laughably invalid even your own fans would agree with me, if u really think that episodes 1-3 are better than LOTR than nobody can trust u on anything movie related, just saying
