@@Tylerlyndon That's right. The Northman bombed at the box office, just like Nightmare Alley before, and The Last Duel even before. Are you tired of remakes and superhero movies? Go out and support different movies, instead of complaining that Hollywood doesn't make great original historical spectacles anymore.

Robert Eggers is one of the most amazing directors to date and I don't know why the heck the academy ignores him. After The Witch and The Lighthouse, it was time for me to do something new, but this time with Vikings. The northman is for me the best movie so far this year. (Amazing shots, I don't know what happened because they removed it, but I'm glad to see it again, and now only The witch and the lighthouse are missing)

Macbeth not really, fassbender Macbeth is just perfection. The problem with the northman is that some CGI moment is just too noticeable but overall a fun movie 🎥🍿

There are not many film that truly encapsulate the words ‘Every frame a painting’ but this is definitely one of them. Outrageous visuals.

Did you notice the doors? "The door is a deep metaphor for transition, transformation and liminality. It is argued that Viking Age people built 'doors to the dead' of various types, such as freestanding portals, causewayed ring-ditches or thresholds to grave mounds; or on occasion even buried their dead in the doorway."

I really like this movie. Mostly because it feels like a homage to Norse culture. It shows both the beauty and brutality of it. It has some very minor inaccuracies, but compared to other Norse themed media. Like the Vikings TV-show. The difference is day and night.

Such a gorgeous film. I saw it in the theater with my 20 year old son and we were both speechless when it ended. The images stayed in my head for days afterwards.

1:47 is such a surreal image, it doesn't sit right in a 2022 film and feels more like one of those AI art fictional 80s camera shots which makes the scene so disconcerting.

This is what The Fountain could have been if the studio didn’t slash Aronofsky’s budget in half. Still prefer The Fountain, incidentally, although this was an awesome flick as well.

...This is a Great Film, even a Masterpiece. Unlike Marvel's "movie" garbage "Thor Love and Thunder". Eggers took Scandinavian/Norse Mythology and History seriously, he read the historical Sagas, and came up with this great film. A rare Director in today's world. Outside of Hollywood, with unique Artistic Vision
