I grew up in Millville. I had the privilege of going there a lot when I was young. Just recently took my son there for a burger for the first time. A complete experience; nostalgia and great food.
JL, so, so many hidden gems, family-run, long-established predominantly American-style comfort food restaurants in South Jersey(Not just at the beaches). You are the KING when it comes to finding these spots, thank you. God Bles, Happy Easter.
I was born and lived in Brick NJ, close to Seaside and Point Pleasant and Asbury park NJ. Then when I was 5 my mom remarried and brought us to Ohio. My dad lived in Jersey until he retired and moved to FL in 2008. But every summer I would spend with him eating at the boardwalk or dad would take me to all those bk alley hole in the walls where ALL the amazing food was. The loaded Hoagies,Meatball and real Italian subs, and my favorite steak and cheese. Yum oh. Not to mention the meals. Chicken Piccata, lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, homemade clam chowder. Huge slices of pizza pie. Omg I’m making my mouth water just thinking about it. That’s why I LOVE watching this channel. He brings me home. I Haven’t been bk to Jersey since dad moved. And the last visit we had planned was when the “Plandemic” hit. And the way Jerseys Goverment is behaving I’m not planning a trip anytime soon. So I would like to thank JL for reminding me what I’m missing. Lol.
Oh how can I forget the hot dog stands along side of the highway running it out of a motor home. Sabret hotdogs cooked in that “dirty” water. Or those long hotdogs in their natural casing with Kraut on them on a soggy bun. No place better in my opinion.

That burger with gravy looks delish. It’s a two hour drive for me, but I can see a future visit in the horizon. Oh, when your in the Morris County area in Jersey, you should check out Mo’Pweeze vegan, gluten free, top 9 allergen free, kosher bakery in Denville. I’m telling you, taste wise, you would never know that this place caters to people with unique food requirements. You must check the place out you won’t be disappointed. The apple cider donuts are to die for!
I drive an hour or so every couple of months, and know a guy that has them shipped to him... the burgers are better than they look on video. Worth the trip if you can work it out
I was in Millville last week and I had my first Jim's experience. Those Burgers are the real thing! Not sure what is in that sauce but its perfect. Event the bun was perfect for the burger. I loved it! What a find!
Seeing a burger with gravy in it, I gotta be honest, made me a little put off. but MAAAAAN, that reaction you game after the first bite. I know this isn't a burger I can knock before I try it. I'd love to go to the place where my favorite baseball player went as a young'un. Thanks for giving such historical and hometown places this kind of exposure. you do amazing work and my mouth salivates at every spot you visit. much love from the PNW.
My mother mad that when I was younger, with nothing but love!!! Comfort food all the way! These are the times I wish my mother was still alive!!! I’m talking about the 🍔, literally almost made me 😭 but it definitely brought a tear to my 👁 🥲
One of my pet peeves about food channels is when something is described but they don’t tell you what they are exactly tasting when the people who have the answers are in front of you, now you might say well you just have to come down and try it yourself well the best reason to watch a food show is to get as much information on something, was it mustard or cheese?

You should check out Fazzio's in Salem, NJ! It's still pretty new, but it's owned and operated by a local couple. They locally source many of their ingredients, too.

Alright JL my man you know been following you for years now and u “never say no to bread pudding” and no I promiseeeeee you, no gas, like I’ll put my life on the line for best bread pudding is at a place called Two Stones Pub in Wilmington right off 95, literally when you have that jawn no other bread pudding compares. I’m from blackwood n just drive down for it and eat it there. Promise you big bro. Trust me.
Wow. We have a place in my hometown of Amory, MS called knight's drive that serves what we called hamburger steak with gravy and onions. It's served with fries and cole slaw OTS. This is basically it but on a bun with cheese. I'm so doing this.
I just smoked a fat blunt the burgers looked fire but the the turkey sandwich on white with gravy on it activated munchies mode we got tacos and street food on the west coast but the east coast has the most fire diners
Please do an Italian kitchen cheesesteak and sgt bobs in pennsville, nj. At sgt bobs get the garlic rice and chicken and try the curry shrimp. Bussin! I live here Salem county has some food gems
