In response to a comment that was made to me. For starters I am 68 Years old. I have noticed on many of the Video's I have watched that comments have been turned off as there are true Martial Artists who are insulted by Tons of Kids being handed Black Belts like Candy on Halloween. Having closely watched their forms it is understandable why many Practitioners are disturbed by what they see. I started at 63, and after Six tough Surgeries, Double knee replacement, screws in my feet, Cancer, 44 Radiation treatments, and a Month in a Nursing Home, I still managed to earn my 1st Degree Black Belt (Shodan) in Goju Ryu at the age of 67. It wasn't handed to me. I sacrificed those Years and would not trade them in for Anything. Now the real Training begins. I hope all those young Black Belts continue to train and learn as I hope to also do.
I go to an American Taekwondo Association school. Our black belt test required a 2 mile run in under 20 min, then a “fit test” that you have to complete in under 5 minutes consisting of 50 push ups, 50 sit ups, and 300-3 move punch/kick combos. Then 8 forms ranging from 30 to 70 moves each, then like 10 rounds of sparring, then, at the very end, board breaks.
I do kuk sool won and their belt before black is brown w/2 black stripes called the dahn bo nim. Testing is around 5-6 hours full of conditioning 6-10 forms over 100 techniques board breaking. Also 1000 kicks and strikes. I had to do 100 jumping jacks 50 squats 30 crunches over 60 push-ups and it all happened in 4 1/2 hours that was for my dahn bo nim test. Now to do it every three months for the next 1.5 to 3 years.
They probably have junior blackbelts. You can only get a full black belt at age 17 or something. It basically means they qualify for the black belt but at 17 they have to take the test again to get the real black belt.
3:18 this is why you shouldn't be allowed to test for a black belt at such young age. She was clearly struggling, and she could have gotten minor injuries if she kept hitting it
Taekwondo invented 1930 ITF style invented in 1959 the fact is that she was not physically strong enough to break it while being a high rank,to have a sense of accomplishment you need to be older because she was never going to break the board and it would lower kids confidence
Taekwondo invented 1930 ITF style invented in 1959 for a taekwondo teacher you sound really mean and you sound like a kid with your bad grammar and swearing
@@theferretlord8070 I couldn’t break a board until my 3rd belt which is orange... now I’m a 1st degree 2nd recertification and I can break bricks. Soon she will be able to do what I can do. But I’m also on ur side. If she can’t break she can’t test
@@theferretlord8070 for my yellow belt testing I was very exited to break 2 board instead of one the sad part is that they made me do a roundhouse but I hit the board so hard that told me they should have given me more boards. I was very exited after that and I still have those boards to this day.
Wow...things have changed. We never had junior black belts, all had to complete the grading equally. And our grading lasted three days, sometimes 5. And we couldn't walk by the end of it, & usually couldn't function properly for weeks after. And that was just transitioning from brown belt black tip to black belt. How times have changed. It appears to be more of a sport nowadays than an art. But, I'm old, I'm talking about over 30 plus years ago, & in another country, & was a more military based art form. Very different nowadays.
It may seem like a lot of people, but I've watched many people come and go over the years because they give up working for it. It is genuinely challenging and should be if you go to a good studio/school.
it is just a belt......it does not mean anything.......just like a diploma, certificate, degree.....i have seen many professionals such as engineers, computer scientist and even doctor that supposedly got their degree, training properly and get PAY to do their jobs and yet they cannot do it properly....so yeah. meh
12YearOLDpvp i guess i did not properly express myself or perhaps did not know how to word it or a little of both. what i sm saying is that the the skill and knowledge that one learn is more important than the color of the belt.it is true that the color of the belt represent the hard work that one had but in my opinion it not really matter compare to what one has learn. the belt is the 20th century invention. in the old day, the student will respect each other by their skills and knowledge. how do they know which is which? the master will tell them. that is my opinion 😁
@@thaistick2412 Because i am getting my black belt and have worked my a@# off for it and to have someone just say that it does not matter, doesn't make me feel too good
Those kids got some heart though. After awhile hitting those boards start to hurt. I broke my hand trying to punch through four instantly regretted it. But then I went and played dodgeball and tug of war with the team mates for our Christmas party.
you guys are doing a great job. I do not wish to question your methods or philosphy but awarding black belt at such a young age doesn't seems to be a good thing
@@skeletonfilms3650 that’s not the problem, they’ve put in enough effort of they can pass the test, and anyone who can pass the test definet deserves it. It’s just that they shouldn’t be allowed to take such tests because it can injure them, bing made to break pieces of wood even though you’re still under 10 just shouldn’t be allowed at all.
My 1st Dan TKD test was right at three hours long covering ever stance, block strike and kick in my training to that point. Along with push up sit ups and splits. Then forms flying kicks and Hapkido tests. Next was sparing 11 black belts a minimum of two minutes each. They could go full contact but I had to pull my technique to show I could maintain control. Last break three two inch cap blocks with a shuto strike. Good times 😊
@@williamjeremiah6637 foreign as in western.. Western people dont put enough focus on the beauty of the forms unlike asians. And I know because Im a poomsae player
@@blockobutter it's not pretty when it's not done properly. As a poomsae player, poomsae isn't just a performance to perform for the sake of performing. It's a performance needed to be perform for perfection. And it dissapoints me western countries aren't taught the proper way of executing those forms
I had a taekwondo class when I was in kindergarten... I took it all the way until 2nd grade, until my taekwondo class closed. I learned tons of forms, learned the nunchucks, bo staff, and because I was so advanced even though I was only in the 1st grade, they taught me how to use the sword. Not as much as nunchucks and bo staff tho. By now, I would be like rank 100000 black belt, but unfortunately, I only got to advanced blue belt. The 8th belt (the fourth color).
Powerful, beautiful kickers with high stamina and speed, high kicks are brilliant but the forms are bad but they are good in kyorugi the only flaw was their forms overall their good👍👍😁😁
I am very very surprised at these instructors and their braking technique the open hand technique on wood is not very productive on brick it works very well and would not so much And the fact of these instructors are teaching them this their children and little girl is really doing all that she can and she is very young children that age should not be breaking anything because their bones have not really developed into where they would not have any Serious injury from the strike I would seriously question these instructors because there's a lot laws that protect children from harm in martial arts training
Can someone tell me because I am about to become a green belt so do we fight each other being a green belt or do we have our patterns and breaking boards at testing
captaincapcut No it’s not. It means they’re shit. There’s a difference between making sure all your students learn everything thoroughly to upgrade (where it would take around 5 years to get your black belt) and between just being bad
Uhm that's the point of boards besides breaking them. And improving strength. Boards. And bricks. Are equal to certain bones. Some of them are weaker. But if you can break a full board. You can break bones brother.
This is way easier then my black belt I did 500 push ups and 500 sit-ups and 500 power squats and a lot more No hate but most of the people have no fluidity or power Sorry if this sounds rude
Not the biggest belt factory I’ve seen but I can still see that some of the recommended black belts and even some of the black belts were no where near flawless especially on their kata
This is not how TKD should be done. It takes years to get a red and black belt. There should be no children who have one of these. Maybe teenagers can, but not children
Board breaking should be preceded by much makiwara training. Unfortunately, these folks have never probably even heard of a makiwara. That's one of the reasons why they cannot break a single board. Besides that, children should not be breaking boards. But if they do, it should only be done with a closed fist. The instructors in this video should not be teaching Taekwonddo; they should be teaching ballet or finger painting.
At about the 1:20 mark, there's no difference between a dollyo chagi and a yop chagi. The hip should be chambered so that the knee is in front of you with the sole of the foot pointing at the target.
a really success system.as a chinese,i am joining taekwondo traing in germany....what a pitty! our great Wusu/kongfu artist disappear in china ,but goes bigger in korea and worldwild.
245 1 board broken 4 times. 3:00 its clear he has NO idea of which way his power is supposed to go. 3:15 What instructor would let ANY young student use an open fist let alone let her hit it over 15 times??? This school or so called school is a joke and they should REMOVE Tae Kwon Do from their Name. you call it TKD?? Its NOT What I've been taught over the past 20 yrs, Oh a Real Master is a 7th Dan and higher ITF GTF. Look up both maybe you'll Learn something
I've been in taekwondo for 7 years and can say there should not be an age to get you're black belt at, but you should have a certain level of indomitable spirit and strength.
4:16 was the board the wrong way round on purpose or was it a case of the instructor just realising it!!!!! He turns it through 90 degrees and was like 'oh, you can do it' 'Yeah, well i can now'
Seriously how the f can you not break such an easy board? For blacl belt? Cmon! We had to do multiple breaks and one 2 board power break and then break a brick back in my day for 1st dan testing.
No offence but these 2 girls at 3:44 & 3:53 is just.......Ma gawd. That board is so so thin(as compared to the REAL black belt board test.) If u tell me this is junior black belt I would not believe cuz it’s impossible for a white belt look alike test to be a junior black belt. Edit: the worst thing is that they are using their whole body weight as well. If it were a real person, they would’ve been in trouble alr with that strength. Edit 2: just realised that they were actually SLAPPING the board with their palm instead of using their elbow to extend and hit the board. Those so called instructors holding the board are useless to not tell them their mistake Edit 4: the instructors are also holding the board down with their some of their weight which makes it easier for them to break... Edit 5: imo they should be in yellow or green belt instead.(junior yellow/green btw.)
Sloppy poomsae with minimal focus and commitment. Breaking using more force then accuracy and technique. How were they considered ready for Il Dahn or Ee Dahn testing let alone achieving it?
