I've just done the exact same thing (French drain system) with the trenches on my property - total length of all of my trenches is 180 metres! Just a tip, in case you do this system again down at the main house - you need to line the trench with geofabric before you put the gravel in. Then, once the pipe is in and you cover the pipe with gravel, you then need to put another layer of geofabric over the gravel and then put the dirt on top. The reason for this is because the dirt particles will filter through the gravel and end up covering the pipe, which will then stop the pipe being as effective at 'sweating' out the water. Also, over time, those particles will get into the actual pipe, which will be a real headache in the future.

I'm a little confused, didn't watch ever minute. Not sure if it would be good to use the over flow water from your septic tank on trees which bare fruit. Thought you would have ran the water to a filtration setup after. Would have been nice to get the breakdown of the job at the start of the video ;). Good work though still,👍

Nice work guys! Tip for putting the pipes: just use some dish soap around the tube, and it will fit like butter! I saw that you then used vaseline, it makes the same effect, but is usually cheaper :)

Beautifully done. Thank you for not give a blow by blow of what is happening that you were doing. BTW if you think that was crazy just wait until you actually build...for two years I watched a H/W team build their home from SCRATCH and a one M build his cabin (2x) and never did they once over explain or whine...(at least not on camera). Beautiful work However its a difficult process but from what I have seen these other two builders final out come the rewards are priceless. So lets enjoy the process, sht is going to happen, stop whining and truly enjoy the food..(LOVE LOVE the food preparing and plating)...Congratulations on the water project!

Amazing to see that the your projects are done and it looks amazing! :) My only concern or what I did not understand is the piping from the toilet. As I saw, the pipe from the toilet is connected to the whole system just like the other ones(like the washing machine), therefore I guess the "stuff" will also mix in the water underground. So my question would be if this was planned or did I misunderstood something with the system? Or you have installed some kind of filtering system which wasn't filmed.
Hi, it's very unusual how you build, normally pipes are not placed in gravel, but in fine sand so that they can never be damaged underground. Besides, it seems to me that it wasn't really laid deep. Maybe things are different in Portugal. Where do you get the fresh water from? Is there a well? P.S. I love your channel.

The French drain is not suitable for evacuating waste water to the ground. Because the French drain is only used to channel rainwater around houses and evacuate them further. In your case you had to use the pipes with the slits which are called spreading pipes.
