The Master Sword will forever be the pinnacle of fictional weapon designs. Pure aesthetic bliss. The perfect middle ground between simple and elaborate. No other double edged sword design has ever spoken to me in such a manner.
@mercury2157 I'm glad we agree. There are some other weapons in other series I find close - but for a hero's longsword it perfectly straddles the line between iconic and cheesy haha. Thanks so much for the comment and hope to see you at the next vid!
I agree with how two handed weapons sometimes make link look uncomfortable as you said link is the perfect balance between a hero/warrior who fights for hyrule and the triforce but also the hylian shield fits him perfectly as he is not just there to attack but to also defend, so he needs both a sword and shield and not just a sword that is immensely powerful or just a shield to hide behind but a balance between both

Cool vid. Another good one is the dragon slayer from the manga berserk. It popularized big swords in japanese media, probably even inspired the buster sword from FF7.
