Amazing Yamaguchi Venom Marvel Revoltech Kaiyodo 

I'm with you, Robo. I bought ASM 300 when it was on the rack so G1 Venom is my Venom. I'm glad they made this figure for the people who are going to love it and they are going to LOVE it. But ML Venom and MS Venom work for my personal needs.

This gotta be the best looking Venom action figure so far!

I got lucky. Mine is a lot tighter. This is my definitive venom. I love my MS, and the ML is a lot of fun, but for 6 inch, this is taking the place of glory on the shelf. I'm pretty pleased with these back/butterfly joint things, and his shoulder joints are my preference. The double joints worry me that they might break. I can't remember the last time I waited with this much excitement for a figure. I was not disappointed.

they should have included eddie head or bagley or other heads. they also should have painted the back of his hands

For someone that complained about posing the figure you got some awesome poses in the pics. Great video.

my first import figure was a revoltech Evangelion figure. I think I bought 2 of them in 2005. they are still on my shelf and still 2 of my favorites because of how they look in dynamic poses. yeah the arms and feet may fall off sometimes, but they are very easy to put back in and for whatever reason it doesn't bother me. I get more frustrated with soft goods than I do with a "puzzle" figure. great review as always. I really want to get this guy. deadpool and spidey are in route and I know I won't be disappointed.

Man... I don't know if I'm more or less excited about mine now. Never had a figure like this so we'll see how it goes.

I just got mine in today... definitely a few small QC issues... but damn is this figure amazing. It begs to be posed. I have it next to the most recent marvel legends Venom and there's just no comparison. The poses this guy pulls off are incredible and the articulation isn't insanely noticeable thanks to this sculpt. Really looking forward to Spider Gwen and Wolverine... praying they do a Hulk at some point.

Hmm... not sure how I feel about this guy. He's quite blue, and is pretty stylized. BUT, I dig how these figures pose. I wonder how the inevitable Chinese Knock Offs will turn out, will they be worse or better? Often times knockoffs actually fix original QC issues, it's hilarious.

it's a very fun puzzle to solve though. Torso isn't too bad but does fall apart sometimes. Mine isn't quite as loose as yours. Good review. I love this figure.

Great pictures at the end and your stellar review of course! I passed on the 1st run a and canceled but I re preordered with Wolverine as I'm the same age as you and i was into McFarlane comics as well. I had them all at one point (marvel McFarlane I mean)

Yessss, even more stoked to get mine on Thursday. I hope the loose torso is not... how it is, just overall. Really don't want a loose ass torso with him, been waiting too long.

the stand works just fine with a screwdriver and the other piece that also hugs around him. You use the flat pieces to go under the back flap and it holds him very well. You also didn't touch on the ability for the tentacles to plug into the arms and into each other to make a super long tentacle and that they plug into other figma characters or revoltech characters in the back so they look to have been speared.

Just an FYI, the 2 larger tendrals have peg holes in them so you can connect them together as well. You may want to look into returning/exchanging yours. The looseness looks like a defect in yours that's not a common issue from the manufacturer. This one should have been held back and sold on eBay as a Chinese knockoff.

Just unpacked mine yesterday and had the same frustrations, especially with the neck and torso. I'm planning to disassemble this guy tonight when I have some time and see if there are any good options to tighten that up. I actually split the neck joint just unpacking and taking all the plastic slips off, because i didn't realize the neck is connected on an awkward 90 degree revo join that goes up into the back, not straight down into the torso. Odd choice, but I got some good poses out of it so it will make a good addition to a display I think.

on this topic I think you just got a loose one off figure... my incredible sons got it for me as a late birthday gift and my venom was pretty solid not like yours at all. ooh and thanks again for being awesome and replying to your followers!

I actually have this, don't really collect action figures but I have 2 venoms, this one an the 2018 BAF I bought separately I like both honestly minus hasbro's being an inch or 2 bigger

This looks terrible. I'm watching it to make sure my bootleg version came with all the parts and my fake venom is more stable than your real venom.

I'm also a fan of McFarlane Venom too and even though it may have superior articulation to the Marvel Legends...this figure looks like it would just piss me off. lol Don't need that kinda stress in my life either. Great review...but definitely a pass on this one.

I have the bootleg, its bit a perfect figure, but for that price and for just going to stand alon a shelf, its awesome! Sadly one joint broke, but nothing that could not be fixed. The only thing i not like, are the big shoulder joints, you can hide them in the right pose, but the real one looks better

oh man hoping this release isnt plagued with QC issues, waiting on mine to come in the mail. But yeah as other's have mentioned i think BOOG had his legs come off and now yours with the loose torso, and then the loose head and eye options are concerning. Really hope theyre not pulling a mafex on us!

my revoltech deadpools shoulder was loose and kept falling off so for me i fixed my loose revo joint by applying a thin layer of hot glue on the peg

The arm on mine just fell off and was broken getting it out of the box, right at the elbow joint. Mine has absolutely none of that clicking sound, just loose and broken limbs. The leg fell off, the entire torso then fell off into 3 pieces. The left and right arm fell off. That was within 5 minutes of opening.

Saw another review of this guy and the torso was not loose like yours. Looks like some may have that qc issue unfortunely.

Robo, I swear you have the worst luck when it comes to certain import figures...like many pointed out, there are other reviews out there that didn't have the torso issue which is indeed present in yours. But I don't think that invalidates your review in any shape or form...on the contrary, it warns us that the quality control, while not as messed up as Mafex, maybe isn't as tight with this particular release. I purchased Venom not because of my love for the character but because I've been impressed with how Revo has reinvigorated the action figure scene and Kayodo itself with these unique releases...plus the fact that I love monster-looking characters...I think it's expensive enough for us to demand the figure isn't a floppy mess. Anyways, I wanted to say that I understand your frustration because I would react in the same way...this has TOP 5 figure of the year written all over it and getting a defective one is such a bummer. One last thing: be careful with how you move the hips...they can do more than what you showcased, but if managed accordingly. D-Amazing showcased this pretty nicely.

Liked the review and am a big fan. Question though I know there have been some QC issues with this figure and mine the faces don't stay on very tightly and was wondering do you know of any way to fix that and or any suggestions. Thanks!

I've seen 3 other reviews of this figure today, yours is the only one i saw with a loose torso, fluke? maybe or you just have my luck with figures ( all bad ) i would try tightening the post. Great review as always, keep up the good work!

Man I really want to hate this review but I want to live it at the same time. I loved Dead Pool and Spider Man and I'll deal with Venom. I'm super excited for Spider Gwen and Wolverine. I think Wolvie will,be fine as he looks much smaller than this. Keep up the great work brother...

I received this figure yesterday and just like yours the upper body was flopping around so I pushed the joint in upper body a bit and it stopped flopping so maybe that's the issue with your figure too.

one of the things I've noticed as a toy collector is that I don't mind less articulation if it means better sculpt and better paint on the figure so when I see really articulated figures like this Venom I kind of get hesitant about getting excited for it because I know even though I can put it in a lot of poses it will also be a bitch to deal with if the joints are loose, odd, or too complex. even though import figures are better than domestic figures in most cases I have to say for most of them they have the articulation we want but then you soon realize why our domestic companies put realistic articulation in instead of acrobatic articulation

well ive got the other 2 figures in the line so i will probably get this one but dang the spider-man frustrates the crap out of me when posing and im no stranger to revoltech but it seems to be odd design in places, deadpool was my favorite in tems of design with the articulation and im hoping the wolverine will be similar to him, shew on on the fence with this venom lol

I think if you used him with ultimate spider man, then he could be used as an ultimate venom, especially with the purple-black color and the over-exaggerated proportions.

Shame about the loose torso joint, and I hope that's not a consistent issue.

Hey robo, this is off topic but why do you think we haven't seen 6 inch G.I. Joe figures? I mean with the success of marvel legends, star wars black series and dozens of others... why no Cobra commander, snake eyes. Can you imagine the detail and articulation!? I cant be the only one...

Yeah, definite QC issue with the torso. And it looks very frustrating. I'd like to see the review in the alternate reality where that wasn't an issue.

Wait, revoltech and buttery joints? I admittedly only have 1 revoltech figure (And it's a bit of an older one), but most of those joints take a decent amount of umph to move. Has Revoltech slacked a bit on joints?

EEK. Yeah, seen a couple of bad reviews. This is in my HLJ warehouse (along with the Street Fighters, and all kinds of other stuff), but I'm stuck waiting for the Japanese holidays to pass. {sigh}

Not sure if it's just my copy but does your copy of Venom have paint rub on the back of his thigh near the butt area? Just got mine and I was moving the legs around and it appears that there is little clearance for doing high kicks.

Ok im covering this thing black mate paint. I really dont like that glosy blue.

Frustrating AF! I do like it though. It seems as if the right leg was tighter in that thigh joint than the one for the left leg on mine.

If u still have that problem put it in the freezer until the joint become tight

Well I found out the hard way that while the hinges on the stand can support the weight of the venom figure though very wobbly the peg that plugs into the back of the figure or the extra clamp cannot :P The peg snapped off deep inside the figure as I was adjusting the stand with the figure on it atop of my table. I recommend that you don't use the included stand even with the clamps because that peg will snap inside your figure or inside of the included clamp for the stand. Unfortunately I found a solution for replacement stand because the Mafex stands I have can't support the weight at all even after tightening the hinge screws. It is ashame because I really like the figure and it should have a new custom stand to support its weight.

Robo, I'd try too get a replacement if I were you. This clearly shouldnt be this loose at the torso.

I plan on getting this so I can display him alongside my Figma School Girls.

Still the best looking Venom figure to me. I have him and yeah I gotta agree with you. Its a love-hate thing with him. This guy is extremely difficult to pose, not to mention the articulation from Revoltech is crap. Every little inch of articulation will just bounce back to the original pose. You just can't get an accurate articulation or bend especially on the arms, most likely because they're using rachets for the joints. Its annoying AF that when you need to do just the tiny posing adjustment, you need to rachet the joint with some force instead and then everything screwed hahaha.

Is it just me or does Venom look a hell of a lot like a xenomorph when you take the top of the head off?

As others are saying, other reviews are not having the loose torso joint that you are experiencing. Yours may be somewhat defective.

So I love the look of the figure...that is about it. From what all I've seen from figures' in this line, QC is a issue and should be addressed. Thank you Fwoosh for sticking up for that, there is no excuse on the "Legends vs. this line" I mean it is $20 vs. damn near $100..inexcusable.

The reviews I've seen have all had loose torsos...yours seems exceptionally loose though....at least your venoms leg wasn't broken. Great review, still not a revo fan

It seems like alot of ppl are having qc issues with this guy. I just got mine from amazon and he had multiple unpainted ball joints(one of which was red). His eye pieces were deformed and couldnt stick to the teeth section. His joints were also flimsy, tho not nearly as flimsy as yours.

And this is why I wasted 5 hours of my life switching the official torso and the bootleg torso.

Since that figure is so frustrating, its probably best for all involved if you just send it to ME. ;)
