This arrived in a large Amazon basics branded box that opened at top with the instructions being the first thing you see. The instructions come in six languages with English being the first in the manual, and I thought the instructions were clear and detailed with explanatory and identification diagrams. The shredder is tightly packed and protected with bespoke polystyrene; it has a fixed power lead and the addition of four wheels you can fit.
First impressions: this is quite heavy but very easy to move about once you have fitted the wheels, these are push in and go in reasonably easily, they also have a locking clip on to stop any movement when you have the shredder place. The overall look of the unit is nice and I like the design, there are three control buttons for power, manual reverse and forward, the power button illuminates with a blue LED when the unit is on. There are two slots in the top, one for shredding paper and another for CD’s and credit cards. The waste is collected in a draw which is removable for emptying and has a very large capacity; there are slots on the side of the unit for carrying.
I first tested it out with a single piece of A4 paper just to check everything was working as it should and it shredded it no problem, I then tested its ability to shred a CD and a credit card which it did but I was a bit disappointed in the shredding result as it cut it up rather than shred them. I tested it with the maximum recommended capacity of 12 sheets of 80g/m paper and it shredded these no problem with every sheet turned into tiny squares. Both the forward and reverse work perfectly although there is a slight delay in activation after the button is pressed.
I have been using this since it arrived and it has worked perfectly, I have shredded paper with staples in it without issue as it has this capability although I have also removed them when possible.
Overall this is a nice looking fairly heavy duty shredder that handles up to 12 sheets of paper really well, in my opinion it is a nice simple design with good attention to detail such as carrying handles and locking wheels, I did think it could have performed a better job shredding CD’s and credit cards but overall I think it’s very good.
