Hi - so I've looked for the LocationMatch tag in the configuration file, but there is no require local. However, there's a directory tag that seems to have the same properties "allow" etc. So I changed the original to something I found on StackExch. that seems to permit everything. The message has change but still shows Error 403 but in different formats. Is the new version of Xampp configuration different? What part should I change

If you are getting an error like: "/opt/lampp/etc/extra/httpd-xampp.conf" E212: Can't open file for writing (this is because you don't have necessary permission to modify this file) to resolve this issue, do this: sudo su - vi /opt/lampp/etc/extra/httpd-xampp.conf [do required changes -> press Esc key -> :wq! (including colon sign)] sudo /opt/lampp/lampp restart VOILA! You got this. ;)
