Hey, does your product weight is like the last example he did? cause the weight of the product that I want to sell is 10x8.27x1.65 and 0.71 lbs and I can see the total of the fees will be $8.05. Is this too heavy for a starting product? please and thank you!
Brilliant Video. I have an important question though: Amazon guidelines states that: • Use 2 inches of cushioning between each of your items and the inside of the box. • After you pack your box, shake it gently. The contents should not move when shaken. I have watched lots of videos but no one seems to mention for packaging the product as per above guidelines. Do I really add to use cushioning between each items and in the corner of the boxes or it is not required? Thanks in advance.

What about products that a soft and can me condensed down? (It’s packaged in a long package for display in a store…not because it’s necessary) Would it need to arrive at Amazon already condensed for them to take the smaller dimensions.

Hello Dan, I have a question, if i want to create a seller account and i live in canda and i'm registerd as sole proprietorship in canda and i want to sell inventory (many items) like more than 1000 peaces monthly on amazon us. what type of business entity should i choose when i'm creating the account ,(privately, owned business) or (None,im individual)
What if my outbound shipping weight is 1.57lb but my longest dimension is 18.5 inches? Will amazon charge me the small oversized fulfillment fee? This half inch may double my fulfillment fees?
Dan, how about storage fees? we must to include also and storage fees per cubic foot? how do you calculate this? Thank you for your videos, such a good content.
This is a good thing to bring up Melitina, it is complex though so I try avoid getting too technical with calculations for one product in the videos, also the storage fees are usually marginal. They are usually a few cents per unit per month and so it's not a business breaker. They are most important if you have a larger product OR you go into long-term storage rates. Work out the cubic feet of your cartons. Then multiply that by the cubic foot rate Amazon provides. Keep in mind that you won't be charged for units sold in month 1, only those still there from month 2, and that inventory should continue to decrease, leaving less and less in month 3 and 4 and even 5 (if you have ordered that much). Don't do more than 6 months of inventory as it will hit long-term storage fees.
This was really interesting. Those numbers are very similar to mine which was great but I have noticed that Amazon take an extra $0.9 Tax on all of my sales. I can't seem to find what this tax is and I was under the impression that as I live in the UK and my business is set up in the UK that I shouldn't be paying tax on sales made in the US?
Hey Stuart, this sounds like you are paying a closing fee. This will be the case if you are on an individual account - you pay a closing fee per sale you make. This is why it makes sense to upgrade to a professional account when you are selling 30+ items a month as the pro account fee is +- 25 GBP. Once on a pro account, the closing fee falls aside, so essentially, the more you sell from that point, the cheaper your account.
@@DanRodgers Thanks for that reply Dan. However I've been on a professional account since I launched my product in August. When I click on the transaction page under payments it shows Amazon FBA Pick & Pack Fee : $4.76. Then under that has Referral Fee on Item Price but to the right of that it has Base Amount: $4.49 and under that Tax: $0.90. I'm confused why I'm getting taxed this as Amazon already charge the customer Tax and then that tax the customer paid is withheld by Amazon. That is potentially a few thousand dollars I've been taxed in August that I shouldn't have :(
@@DanRodgers ok, after some more research it looks like when Amazon collects sales tax, they charge the seller 2.9% for them collecting those taxes from the customer.
In my case they chose actual weight because my Dimensional weight is less than Actual.. should i open case with Amazon and ask them to update my fees According to dimensional weight?
