If you use ball point needles (either for hand sewing or for your sewing machine) it will make sewing stretch fabrics so much easier and keep the stretch in your fabric without creating small holes in the seams that sharp needles create. Ball point needles also save the stretch in the seams too, which makes changing clothes on a doll easier. 😊❤

YES!! Also, check your machine use booklet for the zig--zag stretch stitch setting and use polyester blend thread, not 100% cotton thread. The polyester thread has a bit more "give" which will help with the stretch stitch setting. Thanks for sharing all your talent with us.

Plus using water soluble seam tape helps hold the fabric together so it sews well.

@@johannaholmgren8088 I learned to sew in the 1950s on my grandmother's treadle sewing machine. Most of the notions we take for granted today were just fantasies back then. My mother got a cam machine for decorative stitches on her new zigzag machine in the 1960s. The buttonhole attachment was a separate device.

@@onemercilessming1342 I started sewing in 1970. When I was 13. So the really great stuff was completely unknown to me. Buttonholes had to be worked by hand. I can't remember when I learned about stretch stitch needles, but I'm certain I didn't know about them at the time...I'd never heard of a serger. That would be 20 years later that I found out about that!! I love the sewing aids we have these days. Don't know what I'd do without them. (Well, I do know. I just mean how much more time would be spent on seam edges etc!)

This is something my daughter and I plan to do using one of My Froggy Stuff's hidden room boxes. She already has the cats and some 3D printed furniture, we just need the espresso machine. 😉

When sewing on small pieces like the ears, it is helpful to trace the pattern template onto a larger piece of the fabric, lay it onto a second with right sides together, sew it then cut it out, trim and flip. That makes it easier to manage while sewing and less likely to get pushed down into the machine. Sewing small pieces with stretchy fabric on a sewing machine can be tricky. Use a needle made for stretch fabric, like a ball point needle. Set the stitch to a very slight zigzag. Pin the pieces to a lightweight paper, like tissue or newsprint. This will help hold the fabric tension evenly as the feed dogs pull the fabric through, minimizing one side stretching more than the other. When done, the paper can easily be torn away. This technique works well with thin and sheer fabrics. Buying the fleece pants at 5 Below is a good idea. The fabric on those is generally a lighter weight fleece, which is good for doll clothes. You don't end up with a lot of excess fabric either. I hope these tips are helpful for everyone.❤

I have trouble with stretchy fabric, as well. I'm 66 and have been sewing since I was 9 years old. I had an Aunt who worked at the Singer sewing Machine store in Athens, GA. However, my mother taught me to sew. I love your patterns and crafts. ❤

Toya please. It's hard enough keeping the miniature furniture in place and the mini cups and glasses on the shelves with normal human hands and fingers, the miniature cats will *for sure* knock them over.

You can use the cats for statues. If you make the paper bead shorter your can put hot glue on top and paint it with translucent paint to make hot cider.

A sewing project! 😍 I would probably hand sew that as well. The cat figures are adorable. You definitely got the cat's view of things at the end. I like the cups, saucers, and spoons as well. The cups would be great for a soup mug. Maybe paint an insert to mimc a soup? The saucers are a good size for a doll sized sandwich plate. Mini Toya could have soup and a sandwich!

As the coffee machine is too big for the kitchen maybe you could put it into a little kiosk or bodega. You could use the wedges from Mini Brands packaging to put all those candies into you have so many of, like the DumDums and Airheads. The dolls could grab snacks, coffee and magazines on the go. The kiosk could be based on that concession stand you made ages ago. I already put this idea up on another video.

It’s so relaxing plus it’s much easier to control than sewing miniatures with a machine (although I broke every one I used so I now see everything by hand 😂…I really wanted to make Starla’s diaper bag but that sort of required using a machine 🤣.). Yey! Calendars!! I hope I can have it printed at the drug store 🤔🙏😍. I want to print all of Your books 📚 but since I only have printers 🖨️, computers and sewing machines that do not work 🙄 at my house (so not my fault 🤦🏼‍♀️). I don’t want to get it all on thick photo paper 🤷🏼‍♀️. Does anyone else in this world have to deal with this and have a solution for me pretty please??? I’d greatly appreciate it.
