Shane is the man! Gotta love the transparency and honesty, true integrity which is hard to find these days. I will gladly continue to support migro and let as many people as I can know about your channel thank you!!
I'm on my fifth grow w/ two viparspectra 600, that were around $160.00 each and have had incredible results each time. They are still going strong after five grows!
Thank you for clearing up the murky waters of grow light manufactures claims. If you’re just starting,on a budget,go through these reviews. You will be informed!
I made an error calculating the Meizhi efficiency. It is 1.26 PPFD/Watt instead of 1.23 PPFD/Watt. A typo error when creating the video. Thanks to Henry for spotting the inconsistency👍
MIGRO would love to see a detailed video on the Meizhi, also I believe the fans pull air into the unit as a pose to blowing air out the top it. Reversing them could improve heat efficiency??
They just recently legalized weed in my area and I started with a light called aokrean, it's 105 watts all together. Managed to grow 2 ounces of weed from bag seeds in a card board grow box; that also being hermaphrodites with made seeds. Most of the energy went into making seeds. Could have possibly had over 3 ounces with out seed production. Even more with auto's.
Absolutely love this Channel.....Uses his own companies time and channel to help the beginner grower and shows all the good of cheap lights.....well guess what? Those beginners WILL be Migro customers because of this exact service.
I'd like to see the spider farmer sf1000. On Amazon for around £140, just got one and wanted to see some real tests done on it. Samsung lm301b, meanwell driver etc
From 1 Irish guy to another, excellent channel! Really solid advice. Fantastic knowledge in your field! And yet another Irish guy showing the world how it's done. Cheers!
Thank you for the video!! I’m going to start a hydroponic grow in my basement lettuce, spinach. In these unprecedented times I guess most can come out of this a bit wiser.
First grow in tent. Got 600w philzon. Great for veg, struggled to get to bloom. Lot of stretch. Went 12/12 from beginning next grow. Great results for price/pwr consumption/time. FWIW
Let me add that I have 2nd Meizhi 300R with spledid results for 60x60 tent. Further a bit more blue keeps plant low, usually welcome with new genetics. Excellent job as usual. Thank you.
Very helpful. I was just about to purchase the viparspectra. Thank you for your time and effort my friend It has saved me time and effort. Oh! And money! Thanks again Squiggs
I honestly just bought everything Vivosun. And it works well. Just get a pulley system. The tent is great and growth is happening. Def one of the least expensive but def tried and true and works well. It’s like the first company to come up on Amazon usually. (eBay also). Cover Mars Hydro and Vivo
Just a thought I think Shane would be good as an adviser to the RHS and other plant growers (not just the mostly blokes growing you know what). Many gardeners like me are very unsure of this area. Many living in flats haven't access to enough adequate light.
The ones with lots of blue lighting percentage were probably originally designed for marine aquarium lighting and then just readvertised for plant grow lights, I've noticed they do that alot
This is the real help and a great support, and this makes a good Channel! Because they may become Migro light buyers later on, because they learn with their own failures! It's like with bicycle driving, you have to kiss the floor to learn it later on, some earlier some later 😂😂😂
Your honesty and integrity in this capitalist system we live in shows what a decent fella you are. These are qualities you can't buy.. peace and unity my bruv.
I've got 2 philzon lights (both "1000w" one being COB and the other a regular LED) and for the price, I've been very happy with the yields. I would love to buy better LEDs but at a cost of $1200, it's a little out of my price range.
Hell yeah, i did he test run with the latest edition of Meizhi reflector 600, pulled 250 watts from the wall when both switches was on. 80x80 cm tent. Perfect and it will cover a 90x90 (full 3x3) good. Doing some side by sides comparing Veros 29g7 cobs, quantum board and this Meizhi 600. Fun!
Hello Shane. If you can get your hands on a hipargero 800w and test it, it would be great. I have had amazing results and the price is fair. Ideally I would have preferred your Migro Cob but they are out of my budget. Take care!!!
@@RayPal1111 Hello there! Please notice that I am not affiliated with any company and I am just here expressing my views and experiences. So the HIPARGERO 800w which is essentially 240W of actual power can be compared to the MIGRO 200+ of actual power of 235W. Hipargero you can get from Aliexpress shipped from Spain for €147,35 (Store Discounts € 9,15 off on orders over € 100,65) and the MIGRO 200+ for €519.00. I mean the difference in price is literally out of this world. I can buy almost 4 Hipargero 800W for the price of one MIGRO 200+ and the yields are amazing in size and quality. Smelly, beautiful, huge potent and sticky as hell buds. So I want to see if Shane would be willing to review them and see where the catch is, as honest to god, I can't find any but the Migro's passive cooling system which is dead silent as the Hipargero is active coolling via a very silent fan. Spectrum is amazing and it includes UV and IR. Links for both products below: www.aliexpress.com/item/4000086232442.html?spm=2114.12010608.0.0.605f4f19Oy1PoV www.migrolight.com/product/migro-200/
€100 is about $112 US dollars, if anyone was curious. Good video brother! I may invest in this for an addition to my flowering room and/or clone room. I'll still keep my HPS for flowering, but I'd like to add this to the room for that spectrum boost. Then I'll move my supplementary flourescents into my vegetative room. Good video man! Keep it up. Edit - This video made me subscribe! Thanks again.
I have used Mars Hydro 720s and Yehsence 1000w. Some issues with boards going out on Yehsense, but have gotten great bud results and they quickly shipped new ones under the 3 yr warranty.
My Phlizon 600w just burned the "Bloom" switch... It didn't even finished a single 6 months grow. Otherwise, the single plant under it looked pretty good up until harvest. I just love this channel and the content you put up, please keep it up man! Peace from Colombia!
Great video as always! I like the fact that you are testing these "Amazon" lights. Can you check out the Phlizon CREE Cob series, and also some of the "Quantum boards" full spectrum grow lights? Thanks for all your hard work and commitment.
Ive been eye balling the philzon cree cob myself. Ive been hearing some good things about it and would also love to see a test. Same with the quantum boards white light fixtures
I have three of the Meizhi, will be working my way to better lights soon but these 3 do well in a 5x3 tent, my question is you have the measurements at 13" above the canopy is that right? Can the plants take that? I keep mine usually around 24-30" above.
So I've got one of these lights but even more Chinese (I'm from South Africa - some Chinese merchants don't pay tax etc etc etc), it's called the PlantLight E900 (~200w wall draw). So it has two switches and I've been flowering with both of them on. With both of them on, it's around 45% blue 55% red - not efficient. With only the flower switch turned on, there are 8 blues (and 4 greens) to 50 red - 16%. Should I flower with just the red switch, even though it would be ~55% light intensity? Or perhaps just switch to the flower-only switch in the latter stages of flowering? I really want my Jalapeños to be as big and tasty as possible.
Currently got an led bar, but thinking about going with an Apelila 1200W, just shy of £100 but as there are other for significant less I'd put my money on paying extra for the best results
make a homemade board with led light bulb, the same that we use in our house. remove the plastic cover and put 9 at 2 inch of each other, 3,3,3. combine spectrum. and test for us please
Hi Shane. I love what you do and have much respect for you on your truths about light technologies. I am wondering how many of them meihzi 450w lights would be good in a 4 x 4 x 80" tent.Thank u and I hope to hear from you on this matter!
I'm nowhere near as knowledgeable as Shane but with my experience with two 450w viparspectras in a 3x3 tent I'd go with at least 3-4 for best coverage in a 4x4
Love the channel! Do the Meizhi and Viperspectra really have identical PAR heatmaps? Looking at the maps shown at 4:41 5:07 respectively. Different hanging heights, and efficiency but is the PPFD map correct? Thanks for the great content as always.
I own 2- kingled 1k watt Roleardo 1500w (above are blurple) And the 88$ cheezy white led light. Kingled have shocked my by coming into contact with the screws that hold it together. Roleardo is fine for blurple. The 88$ 2k watt light has my plants bending away from the rest to grow toward it. I also have 8 4' led lights (4 - GE 6500k 4' foots) and 2- 4 ' hypertough walmart led shop lights. (side lights) I like the hypertough lights, but i cant say they are compartable to the GE.
The Mars ts 600 is better than all those imo, runs kinda hot but for 80 USD. Roughly a 100 watts of actual full spectrum light. Basically a discounted quantum board lol. Also Meizhi lights are one of the better burple lights.
@@TIOCOTTON itvwill blownyour mind. I switched from phlizon to aglex cobs and wondered why I didnt do it sooner. I liked them so much i bought 1200w(220w) and then their 3000k.(660w). Took a min to get used to because ifnyoubdont keep em atlwleast 24bl to 30binches away from canopy . They are that strong. They use bridgelux vero 29
Sad to hear the spectra did so poorly as that exact light is the one i have. Looking to upgrade for my 2×4 tent. Any recommendations will be listened to.
I really enjoy your videos Shane. You explain things clearly and honestly, and I've learned a great deal from them. One very small minor point of nitpicking: Meizhi should pronounced more like "may-jer" :-)
Great video as always and you should do one on the spider farmer sf 2000 says it get like 2.7 so should be good if like to see what your yhoughts are on it
From the side the light from it I had no glasses and there is only one cure for that that is a flash burn you have to cut slices of raw potato and put on your eyelids when they are closed
U are doing an awesome job i love the informative videos it helps alot i have been running 2 philzons in my 2x2x4 tent doing prity good with em but iam gunna switch it up now that i just started the 12/12
the roleandro light i bought was way different, it was 600 watt ,multi spectrum , and it had duel chips , it wasnt the epistar diodes, if that is what those ones are. it even had a couple uv chips on it i think. i could be wrong about that . but there was 4 chips on all there lights that were very dim to the naked eye. the plants grew with extremely tight node spacing. so far i havent seen anyone get that light.
If I remember correctly blue LEDs are more efficient, so a simple way to ramp up efficiency is to use more blue LEDs and then it’s technically producing more light per watt. That’s probably why cheaper lamps have more blue lights.
From your other videos , I gather that red spectrum helps produce more Anthocyanins. Am I understanding correctly? I’ve always read that 6500k T5 are the best all around due to the high blue spectrum. I grow lots of succulents . About 150 in my collection. Want them to stay compact and colorful. I have a bunch of T5 already. What’s your best recommendation for a budget light to keep them colorful and compact? Thanks for your wonderful videos ! I appreciate them 😊. My shelf space is 48” wide and 24” deep . I’d like something to cover that space .
Hey man, do you know anything about the S600 by EasyGrow Lighting Group? From manufacturer's specs seems to be quite interesting, don't you think? Could you consider making a complete review with PAR, PPFD, Spectrum, absorbed power and more? It would be a great test, in my opinion. Thanks for everything you do!
Love the vids, always very helpful and informative thank you. How do the mars hydro ts1000 and spider farmer sf1000 lights fit into this and any reason they were not part of it? Thanks again.
I see the Meizhi 450 on Amazon for 100 USD. At that point, you might as well spend the extra 30-40 USD and get the Mars Hydro TS-1000. I feel that would be the best value for a 2 x 2 tent and still be a good starting point for a budget setup. Great videos btw, love the work you put out here for us all to enjoy and view. Thank you.
At that point you might as well spend an extra 50 and get an HLG 135w v2 kit quantum board. For $200 it’s the best light for a 2x2. That’s the setup I have and I pull at least a 1/4 pound dried and cured from it. And that’s one plant. Can’t really beat that for $200 and you’d literally be using the one of the best consumer boards on the market at only 150w.
Finally, that Roleagro. And wow it sucks. Lol. Seriously like the new Mars 1000 for a veg light. Have you seen the similar board style lights from Spyder Farmer. Like to see the real numbers on that one. Cheers. Thanks for insight.
I don’t really get to viparspectra not being suitable I’ve grown with those lights for years and years before the new lm301blah lights came down to a cheaper price.
