Today I'm testing out a "Multi Slicer" that I saw advertised online. It resembles a mandoline slicer with interchangeable attachments. Most of the tests I performed are based on video demonstrations of this product on Amazon.

@@misterhat5823Yeah, if he started taking sponsors the reviews would become suspect. The fact that he gets freebies sometimes doesn't bother me since he doesn't ask for them which means no one is being forced in any way.

I am on the opposite side..I was hoping on him to do sponsorships..He could do sponsorships from products that he reviewed and loved..With those special items, he would also be able to offer his viewers discounts on the sponsorships that he loves and trusts..Plus, with all the extra money from the sponsorships (hundreds to thousands per video) he could put the money into the videos or use it so he could go back to making less videos to make his life easier as he deserves it..

The unevenness is probably caused by how you are holding up the slicer instead of resting it vertically on a surface - as you push, the pressure is moving the grater hand away causing it to slice unevenly.

Might work better if you lay the slicer over top of a bowl so you weren't fighting to hold the slicer still.

Theres a reason why there's a rubber peice on the end its to place down the slice vertically then slicing as intended and should be common sense

I think I'll stick with my mandolin and box grater. Ive never found "all in one" tools to be overly useful. Hope everyone is taking care.

A good quality mandolin makes your life easier. A cheap one will only make you crazy- a knife is much less frustrating.

I have this exact slicer and I found the best way is to actually draw the tool across the food(especially cabbage) or with the slicer on top of a bowl and drawing the food across the tool perpendicularly. I didn't have great success with cheese. Thank you for the videos!!!

I’ve had a mandolin (called a V-Slicer) I’ve had for more than 30-35 years - still s,ices, grates, etc. perfectly!

There are already multiple RU-vidrs I quit following when they start to peddle sponsors. Many of them are interesting and just when a new one gets to a point their videos are becoming more "professional, then they cut down the videos to 5 min soundbites, but half of it is advertisement! That is when I quit watching. Greed has no limit!

That's the problem with sponsorships, since they're PAYING for the video, how can you trust that what the content creator is SAYING about them is unbiased? Dissing the product is a good way to loose your funding, so they want to talk it up, even if it's mediocre. HOPEFULLY they aren't enough of a sell out to tout a truly BAD product.....but can you be SURE?

The julienne cut, also known as the allumette or french cut, is a versatile knife cut that allows vegetables, fruits and meat to be cut into fine, thin strips similar to perfectly cut matchsticks. The strips are about 1/16 to 1/8 inches thick and about 3 inches

I know you never wanted to do sponsors, but if it ever comes the day that the videos arent generating enough revenue to make it worth making videos, rather than quitting, I am sure most of us would understand and be fine with you doing sponsors. I've got one of these, though I got no glove or brush. I found that holding down on the plate with the "bumper" worked best because it prevents the slicer from moving while you're trying to slice.

I haven't watched all recent videos atm but if you start off all your future videos with that input of the videos "not being sponsored" I think it would help to continue building your brand since your reviews are honest and fair.

I have a cheap one similar to this and the seam from where the attachments meet the base gets in the way of moving the vegetables. This one looks very good though.

I bought one of these. Found that moving the slicer instead of the veggies worked better for some reason. Also,. sliced the knuckle of my index finger clean off while learning to use it

You’ll find a lot easier if you rest the bottom (black) end on the board/counter so that you’re not trying to hold it up while pushing it down.😅

James, I have been a long time fan, but it really needs to be pointed out that you didn't use this product to its intended use. it looks like it has a rubber thing at the end of it, the purpose of which, seems like it's supposed to rest on a surface while you use it. Granting arguendo that it does not look like it has the best blades. I still think it should be given a fair chance. Cheers James.
