I have to agree with you I’m in California here the contracts pay a bit more but it’s the same just makes up for the area. I have done contracts and honestly I make a bit more just working the load board, and the fact you don’t know where your going it’s just crazy Amazon should provide the full route before booking.
Working the loadboard you'll make more if you know your route planning and geography. You also get to pick where you wanna go as opposed to being surprised with destination on contracts. .
Contracts seem to work if you have drivers and multiple trucks. Just to keep them busy and onboard. But, for me I wouldn’t run them. The spot market is much better, especially iyk what you doing and where to go.
Totally agree with you I feel like they put the unpopular loads on those contracts run you down a line. I’ve also had them cancel a run but still got paid the base rate which was cool but that doesn’t happen often.
Hey Bigg Vic, I have a Semi(DayCab) we’re diversifying our fleet with Box Trucks and I’m in the DMV area…At First, a CONTRACT with Amazon is what I solely desired for My Company, and then my desire turned to disgust! You want me to BLINDLY commit to a route that I have NO CLUE where I am going until 12hrs prior too? Amazon is ONLY paying for you going…not returning? I agree with You Brother Vic…I have found solace in just pulling from the Load Board….UNTIL Amazon Logistics has the 💡Moment to show us there ENTIRE hand, and just say what it is…UPFRONT…I’m Good where I am and that’s with The Load Board. What makes me angry down in Atlanta I would book a load paying $680 dollars see the same load again when I get back around $500 and someone booked it instead of letting it mature these guys will work for free if Amazon post it they don’t even want the money I don’t understand it 😅
Right. That part. Let them go up!! I'm in Concord/Charlotte area. Just finished two contracts for two of my trucks. One for 3 weeks the other for 2 weeks. Base pay was $600 for the 13 hr block. Beach trips and a couple of mountain trips pay ranged from $740-780. Then sometimes we got local routes for the 13hr block, $720s. So people know, they rarely work you the whole 13hr, more like 8.5-10. Shorter for local routes when you're lucky enough to get them.Not to mention not having to go to spots listed on the route. Then the two days off we grabbed routes too. We clicked over 22k in 3 weeks. FYI this rate makes the most sense pay vs mileage. We would NOT do the 13hr contracts for any less, because of the pay vs mileage. Anything less is uncivilized 😂
That's the problem, you have to get that luck to get back. This business isn't what it was. Every one has a truck and always someone willing to run for low which drives the cost down.
Im a retired veteran and currently working at a warehouse of amazon. Im on the research phase right now for amazon relay but men I don’t know if renting a truck will make sense. Im in florida
Yo guys does anyone’s load board is closed about 2 weeks ago. About thousands of carriers load board removed at once 2 weeks ago. Most of them were Uzbek carriers. Can anybody help or advise?
Has anybody ever had a problem with contracts overlapping, forcing you to reject a load, causing your performance score to drop. Amazon says they can’t do anything about it.

am i limiting myself much by purchasing a 24'? I know those extra 2 feet can mean a lot. Hard to find 26; in my area and price range/ Keep dropping the sauce VIC! Hoping i can find one before months out so i can be ready fr peak season in Oct.
I've seen people run it up with a 24' as well. If it's in your budget you'll be fine. I wouldn't stress over 2 ft. I'd try to also check Tailor and Martin Auctions. One of my course students just grabbed a 26' o for $22k and drove it back 10 hours.

Bro only if it's 102 wide. Meaning couple inches past the wheels. Or else you will stress your self out and over work tryna fit the pallets. So 102 wide is perfect
