Everyone has their own opinion, but packing cubes are a game changer for me. I will never not use them. They help me keep so much better organized. Plus, you can unpack into hotel or cruise ship drawers by just placing your cubes in the drawer.

Not here to change your mind, but packing cubes are totally worth it for me. I am not an over packer and I normally travel carry on only. Compression packing cubes are essential for me to achieve carry on (or backpack) only.

I use a combo of packing cubes and rolling my clothes

Some interesting points. I agree with most of what you’re saying, with a few exceptions… - I like packing cubes for organization. I just find them useful. - I can’t say I’ve stayed at a hotel where they provided a tote bag (or a robe for that matter). I use Nanobags for tote bags. They’re absolutely teeny tiny, take up no space (are about the size of a golfball), and are very lightweight. There’s always one in my purse. - I always bring my own headphones, because I bring my own entertainment. Either wired headphones or Bluetooth, both work with my devices. - I also never go anywhere (even in my hometown) without at least a couple wipes for use in the toilet. Sometimes toilet paper just doesn’t cut it. 🫤

I'm also team packing cubes, but please don't feel offended. It depends on your type of vacation. My sister and I often visit friends at their homes. They don't have special guest rooms, it's literally couch surfing. Also no wardrobe for guests. Cheap hotels and hostels also sometimes don't have real wardrobes. So around the second day of vacation my formally well organised travel bag turns into a mess without packing cubes. The packing cubes help me to keep my stuff organised. But as long as you go to clean hotels and airbnbs, I totally get your point of packing cubes being useless for you.

The foot sling - some other traveller recommended a fanny pack, can be about the same but smaller size, I then used the fanny pack while on vacation- I’m 5’ 1” and really even the fanny pack wasn’t really very helpful. The seat pocket organizer - I don’t use the seat pocket but after listening to other travellers tell of the gross things found in them, and the fact that they don’t really get cleaned between flights, or at least not very well, I for one will not use it. Perhaps the large ziplock bag idea to put a small laptop or tablet or even a book in, to tuck down into that seat pocket but also I have no real use for it. The facial wipes, I’d take because they don’t have to go into your liquids bad. The face bad is good but unless I’m wrong you still need a cleanser therefore in your liquids bag. They don’t wash the blankets between flights. Not all hotels provide the small shopping bags, the hotel shampoos/conditioners, are hit and miss. But as Alicia mentioned it was her opinion, therefore you do you. She provided items to think about.

I agree with you on some of your opinions... but..I think some things are relative. I think that you may travel a little higher class. All hotels do not offer robes and they can be hot. Masks: being an avid cruiser, we take masks due to the close proximity of others on elevators, excursion buses, etc. Plane earphones are horrible, if they even work. They do not wash the blankets on planes. You mentioned fans somewhere... go to the carribean or Europe in the summer or if you are going through menopause the fans are a necessity. Everyone can't use the hotel amenities. Could break you out or be too dry.

I’ve never seen the point of a sling. They do not work for anyone over 5’5” unless you have super short legs and then you could always use your bag under the seat to rest them on. Highly more beneficial are compression socks which help prevent blood clots.

I bring ziplock bag size of 5 liter and put all my stuff there 😅

Disagree with you on the packing cubes but each to their own. Went to Montreal stayed in a “good” hotel (Sandman), no bath robes, no housekeeping everyday, when requested they made one of the beds and we lost our hand towels and face flannels, we paid $300 a night for this hotel, for that price I expect housekeeping. Also they didn’t provide shower gel just soap, shampoo and conditioner. Can’t keep air pods in my ears and some airlines don’t have enough earphones. Come to the west I have never had a bag provided (in Canada, UK or Europe)nbut thankfully I have never been to Disney.

I disagree with you about headphones, not all airline supply headphones. Some will charge you for them and they aren’t good quality. I’m also one of the people who can’t wear in the ear, they hurt me. My experience is that most hotels don’t supply reusable bags, and a lot of store now don’t offer bags or charge you for them. Taking one folded up can save a lot of stress and money. Agree with a number of things (passport wallet, travel wallet, jewellery case).
