AmazonBasics 12-Sheet Micro-Cut Paper Shredder with Pullout Basket Test 

I know all too well how powerful an Amazon paper shredder can be. I once got my dress caught in the office shredder at work. lol

I have this model and it has worked faithfully for many years. Yes, I'm surprised, too.

My Auto doesn't Shut Off! Keeps Running.

I don't understand how this empties. Does the drawer slide all the way out and detach so I can dump it into the garbage? Or do I have to open it and collect the shreddings with my hands (like in the video)?

Great shredder... any shredder over 8 sheets is “a’ok” in my book.

I like the micro cut but the cross cut is much faster and for the same price can get an amazon basics one with nearly 30min runtime and 24 sheet feed. Such a hard decision go for extra security and deal with the slowness, or stay with speed and not worry about the size of the paper shreds. I guess either way no one is going to go through my garbage bag full of thousands of sheets trying to puzzle them back together. It’s not like I’m a shedding top government docs where a spy agency can justify the 10000 man hours required to sift through my paper shreds lol. I do have quite a lot of paper to get caught up on shedding so speed would be nice. But once caught up with shedding speed stops mattering really.

What about cardboard for composting

Micro Cut shredders are the cats ass, dont go for anything less! Strip cut and cross cut just don't cut it! Meeces to Peeces! That _Amazon-Basics_ shredder looks more than basic to me, its smashed the CD to bits, and chewed the CC to really small incy-wincies. Some shredders just cut them into 4 or 5 strips! The paper was rendered practically impossible to re-assemble too. So all-in-all a really decent shredder for me to consider when my existing ten-year-old _Martin Yale Confidential_ goes kaput!

Oh my god its garbage. It jams so easy.
