They discuss her appointment as the African Union permanent representative to the United States - achievements and her leaving after 3 years. They also discuss why wounds caused by former colonialists on African nations continue to hurt Africans, how ordinary Africans can be trained to not be used as instruments of their own destruction and many more.

"We are a wounded people. We need healing". Profound stuff 🙏. We need progressive problem solving skills. Putting our country first. The polarised environment works against us. The Western world divides us ➗ and rules us because we are willing, largely because we are ignorant. We see those with different views as enemies and that is wrong. Arikana is the bundle of energy in all its manifestations and the catalyst for better thinking and way forward at this juncture in our History as Black people globally. Thank you Trevor for the platform and interviews.

This professor is important for us when we decide to unify as a people . Solidarity!. Instead of us as a people attacking each other, we should find our unity and stand together ❤️ because divide and conquer is the norm in Black Americans and Africans. Put money building unity like Jews, Germans and others. Prayers for protection and health.

The most painful thing about this story is not the French stealing from Africa, or the West abusing Africa, those will always do that as long as the opportunity is there... The most painful thing is that people at AU, the body that should protect and advance the interests of Africa and Africans, felt the need to silence someone exposing the abuses. They told her they didnt expect results and they meant it to the extent that when she started producing results they fired her.

Interesting, liked this show. I really did not understand Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao but this has really opened my eyes. I think she needed someone like you Trevor to really dig inside her and expose the gem. Imagine she was in Zim but she did not have any talk even at the university where her ideas could have been shared. Her views on the opposition politics are spot on. We should know the difference between political party and country. We should belong to the country and political parties should come second. This also applies to the ruling party because some of their decisions have been to put the political party before country. But I still think she is a a bit soft or maybe diplomatic on our African leaders. When you raised xenophobia, she pushed that to young children that they need to be taught but we have seen the manifestation of that evil even at government leadership in South Africa. Being a medical doctor and a woman for that matter, it would have been interesting to hear her thoughts on Dr. Phophi Ramatuba utterances, who happens to be in the ANC leadership. Children like Julius Malema are very much knowledgeable in terms of Pan-Africanism than some leaders across Africa.
@mampofu1052
@mampofu1052 Год назад
You give a very balanced argument. One thing I've noticed about Pan-Africanists is they seem to understand that the position of the African Presidents are compromised eg when they have to deal with the remaining 20% of our money/resources, as she put it or when they have to consider the consequences like sunctions. Pan Africanists seem to want to deal with the genesis of the problem eg if you listen to most of Madam Arikana's speeches she talks about the berlin conference, colonialism, the brown envelopes etc

I like the Doc but l am not sure she knows what is happening on the ground. She is correct on broader issues but needs to understand African politics. Trevor knows what is happening on the ground. Hi Trevor when will we have a questions and answers session because some of these discussions cannot just end there. There is a debate that Pan Africanism works in theory but has failed in practice giving rise to dictators that start off on a good note but end up doing more harm than good to their people. It would be good to pick her brain on some of these things, especially her reference to Kwame, who arguably RGM followed after. Insightful talk nonetheless.
