On May 28th, at John Jay College's 2024 Commencement, Ambassador Julissa Reynoso Pantaleón received an honorary degree. Nominated by President Biden, her journey from the Dominican Republic to U.S. Ambassador to Spain and Andorra exemplified resilience and the power of education.
Raised in the Bronx, she attended Harvard and Columbia Law School, serving as U.S. Ambassador to Uruguay under President Obama. Beyond her diplomatic achievements, she advocated for immigrant rights and social justice, empowering marginalized communities.
