The WPA 9-Ball China Open is a pro 9-ball tournament held annually since 2009 in Shanghai, China, it was previously named World 9-Ball China Open. The event is organized by Shanghai Pudong Billiards Association and it has been supported by Peoples’ Government of Tangzhen Pudong New Area and the Chinese Billiards & Snooker Association (CBSA) in a very beginning throughout the years.
However, the the pandemic has been put the 9-Ball China Open on hiatus for nearly 4 years and finally the event has returned in last autumn in Pudong Tangzhen, Shanghai as 2023 was the 12th of the event, the event has been held at Pudong Tangzhen Culture & Sports Center in Shanghai since 2016 after 7 years at Shanghai Pudong Yuanshen Stadium.
