Amber Run - 5AM 

Heard this song for the first time a few days before my Mother passed away, just this past June. Had planned on sharing this with Her. It didn't click right away, but I saw Her alive and sleeping for the last time when I left my home that morning, just a little after five. Personal ironies seem a way of life these days. This song will forever hold the deepest meaning for me, as well as so many others from all of the comments I've read. To everyone who is experiencing turmoil or hardship, this is the intent of art; to move beyond words. It's a beautiful thing to know so many are experiencing this together. Thank you, Amber Run.

this song hurts me in the most beautiful way

This song has been my favourite ever song, since it came out. Amber Run my favourite band since their first EP. A while back I asked them on Twitter if they could handwrite the word "5AM" for me, so that I can tattoo that on my wrist. Today, the 9th of November, they sent me a handwritten "5AM" 🥺

“We have work in the morning, but it’s nearly 5AM” The line that made me fall in love with this song. Shows how hard it is to sleep, even with tired bones, with the load on our backs. This just exemplifies every night I’ve ever lied awake long into the night knowing that I wouldn’t be able to sleep because of the yelling, because of my racing brain with all the what ifs. It’s hard. Staying alive is hard, man. Sleeping when you know that the next day will only hurt you more is harder though. Death is hard. Living is harder. Just don’t give up before 5am. You’ll see the light before you know it, friends.

I've never been able to say who my favorite band is until now. You guys are so amazing and anything that you release is just pure gold. Pleeeeeze announce a tour to the U.S!!!

“We won’t be 21 again” this hurt me so deep and made me cry because I realized I am wasting my life, I am wasting my limited time and I will never be able to get it back.

If your asking why this is not more popular, here is why. The reason is the culture is to not dive into your emotion and if you show emotion, your weak. Diving into your emotions is how you grow as a person, how you find yourself more deeply and become what you were meant to be.

Amber Run's music makes me feel so alive!

our society is so obsessed with pushing our feelings away. acting strong, never wanting to show weakness. but sometimes its what we need to do. i have so much shit in my life that I've been holding in. it feels so good to listen to this, cry, and release some stress. this song has done things for me that i haven't experienced in others.

I was listening to this song nonstop a year ago, sitting in the corridor and listening to the sound of explosions in my city. It was the first time after a month when I could put my earphones in and listen to music. I was not sure if I would have another morning, that’s why I didn’t sleep at night at all. This song helped me a lot

After being an 18 year old victim of child abuse who packed essentials and crashed on couches until realizing I'm a burden to everyone, I realized the selfishness of humanity. Our basic needs according to Maslow's hierarchy are food and shelter. When you're deprived of those things and in need of the most help, people are unwilling. Even if I paid rent, kept everything clean, became good friends with their roommates and family, nobody wanted to keep me around. Maybe living in a wealthy area, where the melting pot is so evident that trust isn't really a thing, stirs up this lack of empathy. The homeless who are homeless for reasons beyond them are treated like scum. Fortunately I work in an organic market where I have the best food possible. This song is inspiring me to reflect on all of this right now.. Sorry for my rant.

I found this song when living in the hole that it depicts in my late 20s and early 30s. Without it, I may have never made it through alive. It used to sing me to sleep when up against it and barely alive. Thank God I got help. Change is possible. Don’t ever give in. You’ll find your way through. I want to sit in the biggest arena ever with all the speakers pointed toward where I´m sitting (I’m sitting on the center of the stage in the middle of everything) and theres no one else but me and these huge speakers. I turn on this song up as loud as it can go, and dance around on the stage as this song plays in my ears, becoming my heartbeat. GOD I LOVE AMBER RUN

Everything about amber run is just so perfect

The video tells more perfectly the meanings in this song. Like the darkness that orbits overhead, as does the light as it takes over. The clarity shines on and gives an even greater understanding to the story in this song. It does more than just stir our souls, it moves it to our very core. And that is the gift he’s given us. Everything about this song. Simplicity, powerful vocals and above all lyrics delivering meaningful truth that can hit us all about someone we love, have loved or sadly lost. I dont usually comment on anything online, but this has just made me stop in my tracks at work for its entirety and brought back all the feelings about someone that I never really told how I felt. This song makes me want to write a novel, it's very inspiring and beautiful and deep and I just love this song.

This song has always hit me the hardest out of any song... Between depression, anxiety, loneliness never finding a true relationship and being 28 all of it combined pushed me away from the gym and my friends and sent me into a binge of alcohol the past 2 months straight at home ... And it pushed me to where I literally broke and went in to detox feeling judged and I just got out of detox literally today... With a clear head and realizing it'll be hard but this song will just hit me hard back in the gym now ..

This song just gives me so many feelings. It reminds me of "Is there Somebody Who Can Watch You" by The 1975, but it's just more. More emotional, more simple, more beautiful. I've been recovering from a cocaine addiction for about two years now. This song really hits hard, because it perfectly describes my darkest nights.. Wide awake at 4am looking at my reflection in the mirror crying. Knowing I was slowly killing myself, but fighting the urge to stop. My fiance left me, and drugs were the only thing keeping me up. I was afraid to come down.
