We brought NFL Linebacker Sam Barrington and World Champion powerlifters Blaine Sumner and Layne Norton to battle in the Amberjack Fishing Challenge. Last year the amberjacks defeated us, but this year we got some of the strongest men on earth to fight against the giant amberjacks in the deep ocean. Who will win?

This is just proof that technique is 100x more useful than strength when you're fishing. Josh is 1/5th of their size and out-fishes them. If any of those 3 guys got the technique down they would be beasts.

See down in aussie we really dont use big boats its a mix between a 3.7m to go offshore to a 4.7m where im from that you see going offshore then you see the guys in there haines chasing marlin in a v19c

Caught my first AJ this winter. A 40 pounder just like the one Layne caught, but without a belt. Nearly ripped my arms off, and I was sore for 3 days. Their pound-for-pound strength is incredible.

Absolutely the Funniest Video yet ! Sams sly grin when he knows what his friends he brought along do not. I was wondering how you were going to fit these guys on your boat !? But SeaVee Boats stepped up with a Beautiful Vessel that everyone fit in comfortably. Hooking into a Fish that can drag you overboard is a common thing in south Florida. So tell your friends and book a trip with Josh or any of the multitude of charters , And take Sams Challenge if you think you got what it takes.

I did the challange through another capt. out of the Florida Keys last April and I landed 2 AJ's one weighed in at 40 pounds and it was released after I got a photo of it.... and then 10 minutes later I hooked onto another AJ which took me an additional 10 minutes to get it into the boat. That one weighed in at 70 pounds and it was CLEARLY a much harder fight than the 40 pounder. I agree, these fish are no joke... they PULL very hard and unless you have good technique, these fish will kick your ARSE. I went home that night sore and hurtin for sure... BUT well worth the fight and was able to take home the 70 pounder. Tasted good too. :)
