Amboli is a hill station in Maharashtra. It is part of Westernghats, Sahyadri hills. It is situated at a height of about 700 Mts and it receives an average annual rainfall of about 700 cms. It is known for evergreen forests, waterfalls. It is a biodiversity hotspot and in recent years has become a sought after place for macro photographers for photographing frogs and reptiles.
