As long as we're being honest it's incredibly difficult to 100% accurately portray something like that, trying to put a battle onscreen is like trying to put something on the scale of a hurricane or some other type of natural disaster on screen and be expected to get every little detail right even when you have technical advisors who were actually there, no matter what you're gonna have a bunch of armchair experts pick things apart and the truth is they're wrong about thing's a good 50% of the time.

Also military members just seem to not get along in general it’s a boys club with a lot of unwritten rules and loads of testosterone driven conversation but for me my first 4 years in the BEST YEARS OF MY LIFE!!! Would not trade those memories or time for anything. Unfortunately once you get promoted and have something to loose the military is not nearly as fun. Anyway sounds like you made the have served.

Well for starters there wouldn't be a female controller, second you don't talk about "KIA" when a wingman goes down, because what if hes alive. Generally, it would be reported a flight number followed by general vicinity of crash. Also the flight controller Generally has no idea who "the kid is". They need flight details, not nick names. The whole dialog is something out of a cheap action movie not a historical accurate combat movie.

People expect realistic and accuracy of how the Military and military equipment work. and not all Hollywood films are unrealistic, for example Band Of Brothers and Pacific War. if there are no realistic movies in Hollywood then they will migrate to Chinese or other country movies, but the problem is Chinese movies are more sh1t (unrealistic either) than Hollywood.

No, 37 and 40mm bofors did not have timed fuzes or proximity fuzes. Point detonation only, so it has to hit something hard enough to activate the fuze. Though both rounds do have tracer self destruct to keep shells from falling back to earth and exploding. At the end of effective range the tracer element burns into the base of the explosives setting it off
