I came here for a film shoot, and I figured while I was here, I would film the elevator. In fact, I spent a few minutes walking around the place to find this thing.
This place was built in 1979, and this elevator was installed in 1986 when the church underwent a renovation, which included adding a basement. 1986 sounds about right for this elevator, as I was told by someone who works here (they were also part of our crew for the film we worked on) that the elevator was installed at a later date.
As for the elevator, it’s a nice AMCO with GAL JetPlus RWB fixtures and a nice motor. It still has a bumper, too. There are also these signs posted outside the elevator that my dad and I find pretty funny.
Also, this video includes a bonus at the end featuring my dad and our film friend reacting to the motor.

This is definitely a neat one Liam! I like it! The motor is very nice and it is VERY fast, especially going down! I was shocked at how fast it took to go down on the very first trip‼️ The signs are definitely a bit extra 😂. Nice to see it still has a bumper and interesting that it doesn’t have a door close button too. This is the first one of these I remember seeing without a door close button. That sign on the elevator door made this thing sound as old as a grandpa 😂😂😂😂. However, the indicator is completely is completely burned out. Other than that, great find Liam! What film were ya’ll working on here?

A lot of older elevators in general don’t have a “door close” button, though the “door close” button started to pop up in more elevators throughout the 80s. The film we were working on is called “The Influencer”, a short film made for the 48 Hour Film Project. The 48 Hour Film Project is an annual film competition in which teams of filmmakers are assigned a genre, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue, and have 48 hours to create a short film containing those elements. The competition has been active since 2001. In the weeks after the 48 hours of filmmaking are complete, screenings are held in each city and a winner is chosen to represent that city at Filmapalooza - a festival that features "best of" screenings of the winners from each city. Filmapalooza is hosted by a different city each year. The most recent Filmapalooza, in 2023, was held in Los Angeles.

@@ElevatorDude awesome! I know, but there are a lot of them that do have door close buttons, and usually when I watch these they usually have them.
