Ame Runs Into A Funny Sounding Translation When Trying Her New Translator 

‘ㄱ’ is usually read as ‘g’ sound but when it comes at the head of a word, it is read with some extra air and that makes the sound something between ‘k’ and 'g'.

The romanization of korean words sucks. It's the bad one from the whole east asian languages maybe. Japanese romanization is the most proper one. But sometimes they confuse how to write that in romaji. Like how suisei confuse how to write "chi". She love to write her name to be "hoshimati" even tho there is no "ti" in japanese. Only "chi" even tho by structure, it indeed should be "ta ti tu te to". Not "ta chi tsu te to". Pekora's "kitira" too. Even Chinese language also weird. Like for example, instead of "Ching", they write it "Qing". Qing dynasty. Even tho it's "Ching". Chin(Qin) and Ching(Qing) dynasty. But the modern name of China gladly is with "C". Imagine if it's "Qina". Bruh.. So dumb. "Genghis Khan" name also weird in english but for this case, i guess it's the english fault. The real name should be like.. "Chinggis Han". Like in this video there. It's clearly "kom". Not "geom". The heck past koreans ?!? It's your language, bruh. Or maybe it's another British butcher thingy? Hope young generations of korean try to fix their weird romanization.. But it's hard indeed. There are millions of koreans already. Hard to change their habit to use the wrong romanization.

Well, if you say sword in English, it sounds between k and g in the first letter, and Koreans can tell the difference between that sound and the real k sound There is a big difference in pronunciation between '컴' and '검' I never thought that English speakers would have a hard time distinguishing them :)
