@@andyn305 which ones? And at the end of the day I think there's too much of a burden on high school book publishers or teachers. History cannot be taught efficiently and thoroughly at the same time, esp to high schoolers. It's something you have to want to immerse into and often that comes later in life. It was certainly the case for me when it came to history and government and politics. My interest came after graduation. I read whole wikipedia articles and such on a subject we spent barely an hour on in school. Learned a lot of new things...realistically I don't expect textbooks to contain them.

People forget that Fascism in spread all over the world in the 1930s, one democracy after the other collapsed and Fascists took over in Spain, Portugal, Japan, Italy, Germany, Romania and others. Others had large Fascist movements which stepped in and ruled when Germany invaded. One saw that in my native Norway, France and other places.
