This is huge for the Phoenix area because we have no major theme parks and this is one of the most populated places in the country. We have an old small theme park that is literally falling apart and it's nice to see a huge project come here in our backyard.
While they separately make sense, combining a luxury resort and a Mattel theme park seems to clash. Is it just me? I just don't see how these go together, I certainly don't think of luxury when I think of Mattel. That being said I wish them success, Phoenix could certainly use more theme park entertainment.
That’s a good point. Personally I think that the idea is for the resort as a whole to appeal to adults and families alike. While some may only have interest in the music or events, others can go to the theme park.
One other item... we see a big dip in attendance this summer. I wonder if people have the money and appetite to visit all these new parks. This park & the Frisco TX one are meant to be local so I expect that to be their saving grace. Good luck to all the developers!
The water usage of this park would be a concern for me, and really just in the whole greater Phoenix area in general. Hoping that it is successful though, and glad to see Chance Rides building the roller coasters. Everyone seems to enjoy Lightning Run at Kentucky Kingdom, but for whatever reason they haven't gotten the opportunity to further show what they can do
I live in AZ and drive by this parks spot every day and lemme just say… I have not seen progress on this parks construction for the better part of 6 months. The space they selected is surrounded by both a large number of neighbors/apartments and is right next door to both the AZ Cardinals stadium, the Tanger Outlets Shopping Center and Westgate which contains an arena that used to house the Coyotes hockey team and is a major arena for live events. But there is absolutely ZERO expansion space. Literally none. And that is such a rookie mistake... I fear that when, or if, this park opens that it will just stay stagnant for 10 years and then fade into nothingness.
Interesting fact... the developer of this project is named Epic Resort Destinations. That aside... this appeals to me. I would love to take my son here. I am a big fan of well done go karts... a laser tag inside of Castle Greyskull sounds fantastic. If I had a young daughter I could see her wanting to spend time in Barbie's dream house. This is kind like if Dave & Busters met Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts.
I read an article that said that the ROI on indoor parks are much higher due to longer seasons and better shopping districts so I wonder if that’s why Mattel is going that direction.
i can't say this appeals to me but good for arizona i guess? i just feel like mattel is perhaps going a little bit fast assuming that its cinematic universe will work with just one movie under their belt and now this skjfsdklfjsdl
American heartland is never going to be built. If it does it will almost certainly be nowhere near the original scope, and will likely close down soon after opening. It's just in too random of a location. The mattel park actually seems like it has the highest chance of success given that Phoenix is such a big and popular area these days. The water usage of the park is a concern though, considering that Phoenix is basically in the desert
I hope it flops I am still made at what they did to thomas STOP PROMOTING THAT AWFUL REBOOT MATTEL IT SUCKS also since you added reboot thomas in your park I HOPE IT FLOPS FOR THOMAS'S SAKE
This looks like fun, I’m a huge fan of Hot Wheels & my family & I have watched the Barbie movie, it was fun & maybe someday, I might see a Hot Wheels movie, it’ll be fun & exiting!🇺🇸🏎️🏁🛞😎👍🏻
