Antonio Pasin changed the toy industry forever with his Little Red Wagon. A Radio Flyer wagon is one of those rare toys that grows with us. At first we are pulled along as passive participants, simply along for the ride. Once we can walk, we take the handle (and an active role in our wagoneering), pulling along anyone or anything light enough to lift, and small enough to fit inside. As we grew older and bolder, we turned the handle around and transformed our wagon into an airplane to pilot, or a horse to ride. This is the story of America’s Little Red Wagon. It's the Radio Flyer Wagons edition of WTFF? (Where's the Fun from?)

My father was his nephew. He wouldn't have been able to immigrate here without a guaranteed job. During WWII they no longer made wagons, they retooled to make gas cans (Jerry cans). EVERY SINGLE GAS CAN IN WWII WAS MANUFACTURED AT RADIO STEEL IN CHICAGO! 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they churned them out. And my Uncle Tony had his handprint on every single one.

Wow! What a legacy. Part of thousands of families memories. Was just writing a family story when i realized i wanted a picture of that wagon, and thank you! This came up and will share with my family and friends. It was part of ourr lives from farm to city. Guess we finally made a move and couldn't take it. Gave it to some thankful family!

Is there any other plaything that has more non-play uses? I can't think of one. I use our family Radio Flyer for hauling tree limb logs (no room for a wheel barrow in our garage), hauling coolers and chairs to the beach and for moving yard tools to where the work is. I've heard from gardeners who us their trusty Radio Flyer all the time. How about you?
