Very nice video. It was really interesting. Good thing these two consonant sounds exist in my native language so I don't have any difficulty pronouncing them. In portuguese the /s/ sound can be heard in words like sapo, seta, seda, sílaba, sogra, sopa, suco. This sound is often represented by the letter S in Portuguese spelling in the begging of words. However, spelling can be tricky when it comes to this sound because it can also be represented by different spellings. You can also hear the /s/ sound in words like: C => as in Cebola, Cigarro Ç=> aÇucar, abraÇo Z=> voZ, paZ X=> auXílio SS = as in páSSaro SC => pSCina , diSCiplina SÇ=> deSÇA, creSÇa XC=> eXCeto , eXCelente XS => eXSudar, eXSicar The /z/ sound is often represented by the letter z in words like zebra and zoológico but it can also be represented by different letters : S (between two vowels)=> as in caSA , roSa X=> eXemplo, eXato. It is so confusing for Portuguese speakers specially when we need to spell or write words. The letter S can either be pronounced like /s/ or /z/: Saco /s/, caSa /z/ The letter Z can either be pronounced like /z/ zebra or /s/ voZ the letter X can either be pronounced like /s/ as in auXílio or /z/ as in exemplo As you can see the complicated relationship between sounds and letters are not restricted to English only. It can be complicated in other languages too like Portuguese for example.
