This is almost a caricature of stereotypes in the 70s! And it is awesome! The feathered hair, the burnt umber polyester leisure suit with the big collar!
She has a great voice.... Believe me, I have spent my life absorbing everything pop music... I have heard even the most obscure songs and she really had a great voice.
Her manager Jana and Jose Feliciano were in the next studio at Wally Heiders Hollywood when I was there doing a session about 5 years after this. They were holed up in there doing coke and ordering pizza for 3-4 days.
After all these years, I had no idea that the Laverne & Shirley theme song was an actual hit single. She might not have any other hits but that is one classic tv theme song.
Her hit was one of the best sitcom songs of all time...I can't think of a better one... The worst sitcom song was Gladys Night singing the short lived Charlie & Co song which sounded like a funeral song... Dick was always boring as hell...
