Vraiment intéressant… Je n’avais jamais vu d’interviews de Michel Polnareff en anglais… Il était gonflé à bloc et pensait vraiment qu’il allait réussir aux États-Unis, et c’est dommage que ça ne se soit pas fait… Il avait beaucoup de potentiel et avait bien absorbé les sonorités américaines de l’époque… C’est peut-être son accent qui l’a desservi, car autant il a/avait un phrasé exceptionnel en français, autant il ne maîtrisait pas suffisamment le rythme de la langue anglaise…
When the U.S. failed to embrace Michel , it was a huge loss for America.. What a great artist. Respected all over the world but never received the recognition he deserved from Americans. We were too busy listening to crap like Afternoon Delight, Boogie Fever, convoy, & Disco Duck to pay attention to a genius 😖
There was another, Michel Pagliaro "PAG" & he was from Montreal who sang both English & French & a rocker!! The songs "Some Sing, Some Dance" & "Lovin' You Ain't Easy" (from 1972) & "What The Hell I Got" (from 1978) were big Canadian hits!!!
Michel seemed nervous to me in this video, or at least subdued. I also think Dick Clark could have chosen something more interesting to talk to him about. So I'm not sure the conversa tion had much impact on US viewers.C'est dommage!
