Phil Seymour wàs working for Ron simmrin in 1987 when I met him. I had been working for Ron since 84 so by 87 Ron had enough of my bullshit and brought in Phil to replace me. I had no idea who he was. All I knew was that he was the nicest friendlyist person you could ever meet.
Near the end of his brave battle with "c", phil Seymour had put a band together and was playing around town (Tulsa). I went to see him at the Brookside Bowl on Peoria Ave, late '80's. No hair (from the chemo) but he put on a great show.
Wow I am feeling great about this song back in the 80s single and out of trouble with my girlfriend who haven't seen over 40 yrs God bless her and stay safe
@@kpowers Check out the video from MTV in which he plays -- I guess -- a detective. I didn't know he was dead until a score later. My best year in adulthood was 1981 as well.
@@kpowers It's on his first self-titled album and the first side called "Precious to Me". I was working in college radio, and I used to mark the albums for the station. I took this duplicate home. Fortunately I didn't return it. When I sunbathe. I bring out the player, put an album on, and I use the songs to time my exposure. The cheaper vinyl they were making in 1981 tends to warp, in the sun so I keep the player and the record shaded. I miss my creative days, so I may finally get back to them.
So what was the story about him having been on Bandstand before? Was it when he was a drummer in someone else's band? Dwight Twilley's maybe? Anyone know for sure?
