American Bass DX vs XD | Full Review and Head to Head 

@ParkerTheBasshead- You setting the DX on that hat, smothered the pole venting= bad news. For future testing, to be fair to the MFG., make sure the pole venting can breath. The other sub= XD had a bumped/extended pole, with recessed perimeter venting, that allowed some venting. Im sure the XD would last longer, or with more power, but keeping test procedures/conditions as equal as possible, helps take out as many variables as possible, to get more factual results. Great review showing a few more dollars for a sub that will take more abuse.. And he'll yea to Big Jeff Battery running almost 10 min and didn't even drop a volt. Parker The Bass head with another great video.

Been running 2 E-1244s at 1 ohm on a Taramps for over three years. No problems. Parker, you were my inspiration to get back into it.

I purchased 2 12” Hawks. Super impressed with the quality and value. They take the power and get low. 4.6 cubed box tuned at 33Hz.

American bass is very underrated, I'm just finishing up a build in my Legacy with 8 15s and of course with American Bass woofers. Very good bang for the buck

I just picked up a XD 15” and with 170 ounce magnet and 3 inch Voice coils this thing is pretty impressive at 150$ .I also have a DX 10 (44$) and outside of the smell it’s a great sub.

i had the xd in my single cab 1500 for about a year. had it run at 650 watts. beast of a budget banger. tuned the port to 38 hz and let her rip. Tonal quality wasnt great, but i loved the low growling type bass it produced. cant go wrong with this one. thanks for the review @Parker The Basshead

I have the DX-12, I'm very impressed that you went over 600 watts which is what it's rated at. 300 RMS continuous, so for it to last over 9 minutes makes me happy I bought it. That airy sound is strange, mine doesn't do that. Anyways, great vid!

You should pick up the resilient sounds gold v2 soon. I’ve got my eye on them but they’re relatively new so not a lot of reviews

I’m currently running 2 XD 1244s on a WDX2k and they’ve been awesome no issues whatsoever they shake the house I just picked up 2 Hawk 1244s as an upgrade I can only imagine how different they will be

Hey both of the subs would have lasted even longer if you wouldnt of covered the bottom vents but awesome video.

I have a set of pretty rare amarican basses. They are the exact same thing as the dvc 15 at 500rms but its a svc, has the red stitch and the white basket too. Got em because they handle full range better and sacrifice a little lows.

If the Adire "Koda" sub I'm running now ever blows up, Im looking at gettin' me an American Bass sub. I think they look sweeeet! 💯🤘🏻

I will say, a while back, I had 2 xd 10s in a very good box and they blew me away for the price range honestly

the xd has been a bit of a budget sleeper for a long time. its often overlooked because of its looks but if you are strapped for cash its a great option.

Try that American bass dual voice coil on one ohm to see if you get a higher DB. It would be nice to do that comparison. Maybe do that on a lot of your other subs. 1 ohm, 2 ohm, and 4 ohm tests. It will add to your content

Not to mention both subs weren’t getting optimal cooling bc the pole vent wasn’t getting any airflow either!!! Surprised on the time for sure

I had a American bass XD 15 in a prefab on a boss 2400 watt and it had my rear glass flexing on a 2012 Buick lacrosse, people thought I had 2 15s in it with how hard it bumped

I've had the xd12 for about a year, damn good sub for the money

Personally I think the best budget sub American bass makes is the elite . I have a 12 in dual 4 wired at 2 ohms on a 1800 watt kicker amp . It’s slams

One thing most don't realize about dvc and a svc. If it's a 4 layer SVC then it's just a regular DVC that's been pre-terminated in a series configuration when it was built and soldered together. Why bother saving on a set of terminals and a cheaper spider with either one set of tinsels sewn in or Arial tinsels so they can use an even cheaper spider but that's the only advantage I can think of other than the the parameters may be more desirable in series...having tinsels on both sides is a better design tho it helps it stay more linier. If it's a 2 layer coil svc then it is just one coil.

For only 40 bucks more, I'd say it's worth it. More beef for the dollar with dual coils, ohms options, and power handling. Yeah, I'd save up another paycheck for the amount of extra you get 👍🔊🔊
