I've been running sundown for 4 years until a year ago when my x15 broke and I didn't have the money to replace it at the time. I ended up seeing your video last spring about the XFL series and how they beefed them up. You convinced me to try it and now a year later I am still running two XFL 1544s on a cab 4500 and I couldn't love them any more. 150 db trunk build it impresses everyone I show.
@@nickolasvaughn667 thanks! 5.7 cubic feet @27 hz. I like it low but its also a tad undersized so it stayed pretty punchy. 150.8 was the score on the windshield
I picked up mine in late 2020 for 200 a piece. Made a custom box for 2 of these at 3.5 cubic feet per sub tuned to 34, and using a taramps 3000 watt amp. They hit super hard!
I have 2 XFL 12s wired to 1ohm ( rests at .8 ohms) on a Taramps Smart Bass 3k, powered by a Singer 275amp alt with 2 xs power d3400 batteries in a 4.75ft3 after displacements tuned to 32hz with 69in of port area in the box I made for my 2012 Dodge Avenger. Hits 151.4 dbs at 38hz. Definitely good budget subs.
Nice! Im sorta similar to you. 2 12" XFL 1244s Very similar size box in a 99' Avalon. Wired to 1 ohm on a JP23. 150A alt and 80AH of AGM. I haven't seen any clipping yet and my voltage is mid to high 13s. Starts to shake my car more than I care to.
I like how you mentioned your power supply and it’s a proper power supply. Cause to many talk on and on about subs and amps then ill ask them what power supply they got…🦗🦗🦗. Right on. I run a 300 amp Alt on 2 d7500’s on an 8k.
@@workingclassperson2124 Nice! I was wanting to go with the 5k or 8k decided to go with the 3k for the budget bangers and as a test run to see how well the Taramps held up in winter/summer months. It's been pretty solid so far.
Stock Hyundai Sonata electrical with smart 3K amp on 2x 15year old kicker CVR 15 inch subs in prefab QBomb slot port box. 148 DB! Those smart amps are no joke
Hey Parker in the future could you do a review on the Skar DDX 15? I’m up in the air on which one I would like better. Thanks bro…. Videos are on fire son!!!!
This is what I was waiting for. Prefab box and you are hitting 145db, or at least you could had easily. All the subs you test are Definitely louder on the meter when the port is faced to the back of the trunk. Very impressive sub for $200. It would definitely be strongly considered for a good budget system for me. This XFL 15 would be a great match for a Smart 3 or a JP23 @ half ohm if you have some electrical upgrades.
I have two of them and I love them and I got each one for 225 after everything on Amazon. I love your videos and that's why I picked this sub is because of your twelve inch review so thanks for all the awsome content
CRAZY helpful. I literally had just bought the H Yanka’s and cancelled them after watching the review. After your review of the American bass, I couldn’t be more excited to get those instead.
I bought this exact sub in 2020 .paid $209. Xfl 15". Same website on Amazon now selling it for $250. Great video. I see handles more power. I need better amp . Am pushing 1000 RMS.
Hey bro im bout to put one of these in the trunk of a challenger. Do you think it’ll be too much or should i just go with a single xfl 12? Ill be running it at 1200w rms. I like to feel the bass in my body. But dont want it to rip my car apart lol.
Bro. I've been watching you since 2k subs, everything is A1 on this channel and mad respect for all the hard work. That being said I just got one small request, can you look at the lens and not the screen. I know about the way things look and all but I know if you look more towards the right side edge of lens you'll be on point.
Dang it bro, you have a custom box for the 12” subs but a prefab for the 15” your missing a lot of bass tbh , I went from 12s to 15s And wow the amount of air my Digital Designs 9915b supercharged throw is awesome great hair trick just on 1 15” and on 2 it freaken slams
9915 is a completely another league. You CANNOT compare it to this American Bass. You can throw easily 8k of clean amp power to a single 9915 and it wouldn’t even stutter. Not many subs can take that.... so you should compare apples to apples.
@@alek385 yea I’m running 9,655 watts after ohm rise to each of my DD 9915 b SC I measure the watts thru an AMM-1 yea I also have regular subs lol Before I upgraded to these I had sundown Zv5, and Ground Zero Nuclear 15”, and as of now my back up subs are Fi audio Neo 4.11 15” lol little 4,500 rms monsters that hopefully I’ll never have to use if I blow up my DD 9915, but I do have some regular subs also in my garage, Sundown SA , U, Cerwin Vega Stroker new and original old school ones, probably too long of a list that can probably compare to these Subs
Love your videos. Now a days it's hard to pick and choose between subwoofers, being some good while others are crappy. What are some key things to look for when buying a subwoofer. I am looking for a subwoofer that hits hard (lows) yet durable in the 2,000 watt range at 1ohm. Any suggestions.
Pick a reputable company and you will be fine. Here's a few: Sundown, American Bass, Soundqubed, Deaf Bonce, B2. All of those manufacturers have 2000 watt subs and they are legit.
I have one exactly like this. It is in 4.2 cubic ft @ 32 hz, and hooked up to a Down4Sound JP23 2300w rms amp. Its louder than you'd expect. The bass is so smooth and hits highs and deep lows without a single issue. Sounds way better and is louder than my old SA-15, that I had.
XFLs r the truth. The can take way more than recommended rms. They get super low and can take a beating. Best "budget" subs on the market hands down! & after break in - whoa baby!!!! 3 15s on a b2 audio 7500 shake the block!
I would like to see you would go back to the older sub reviews and retest them on the more powerful amps you have. Especially the audiopipe BDC4. Would like to see what kind of power that could take..
Hey I have a question, what's the better option. I currently have 4 10" pioneer handling 500 rms each. I was thinking about buying one for this American bass15" 1500rms to replace them. Will i get more bass from this?
Gotta love them skar boxes for the price. Doesn't make sense to build on for the cost and time now days. I own 5 of the skar boxes but started getting some sound quebed for my customer's to and a cpl q bomb
hey bro, i had 2 of the 15" American Bass XFL subs in ported box in a 1995 ford flareside , man i played bad and boujee by Migos, knocked so hard rearview mirror hit the floor first coupple bass drops. awesome subs. oh my bad, had them on a 3200 watt Hyphonics Zues monoblock
curious, the Smart Taramps - Bass model. I bought an 5k, was curious if you prefer the bass edition over the full range model? and is there much difference in power?
There is not difference at max power (volume) both models will output the same voltage ac number. However, ex, at certain volume, no max volume, the output in ac voltage varies more with the full range model. For example, {no actual numbers), at medium volume, frequencies 30-80 Hz varies the output from 20v ac to 60 v ac respectively in the full range model. And in the Bass model same test varies from 50v ac to 60 v ac.
Excellent video and very informative. Question, this may not be up your alley but I’m a sealed enclosure type of guy, always have. I see that American bass doesn’t have spec’s for sealed enclosure’s. I would love to try The FXL but I’m kinda in a bind because I see other brands like Sundown that actually have sealed enclosure spec’s. Any feed back would be appreciated. Thank you.
You can calculate sub specs to see if they perform well in a sealed or ported enclosure. I believe the numbers for the XFL tend to like a ported enclosure, that can be why AB only has that box only on their site.
I have a 15” xfl in 4.5 cubes tuned to 28hz. I’ve got it on 1800 watts. I haven’t metered it though. It gets down for sure. Been rocking this setup since June of 2020.
I have one exactly like this. It is in 4.2/4.3 cubic ft @ 32 hz, and hooked up to a Down4Sound JP23 2300w rms monoblock. Its louder than it would seem. Shocking in all honesty, the bass is so smooth and hits highs and deep lows without a single issue. I wish I had the space for 2 15s. 12s look mad tiny in the trunk so I avoid that route
@@0XxDOMESHOTxX0 indeed. I have another 8K on the way, and plus I have a HUGE vehicle. over 100 cubes of airspace to feel! But honestly this is just a break-in box I'll be walling it off soon! It's all on my channel
Hey I have a question have you ever reviewed the CROSSFIRE 15 I have a single sub old sub at that I believe it was made in the late 90,z but that damn sub still puts in work it has my car falling apart lol if you did let me know and let me know what you think of that sub regardless thank you bro !!!!
Been looking at getting and xfl but been kinda confused about the power ratings… on AB’s site they say 1000wrms but when you look to buy from Amazon or eBay you find ads for ones saying they are “brand new” in both 1000wrms and 1500wrms and to mix it up a bit more in at least the 15” I also see 2 different basket designs and you can find both power ratings on either baskets. So which is the latest revision?
I see you used to have a Skar amp, anything bad about Skar that you found out? I got the 4500.1 and two 12 inch evl. Just got my new amp hooked up and sounds great. I had the Kicker cxa1800.1 bumping those EVL, The Skar 4500 huge upgrade
I keep asking u the same question but no answer..which is better out of the 15 xfl or the new hawk 15 or the xfl elite 15..I believe tje hawk is 1,500 rms the xfl is 1,000 rms and xfl elite 1,200rms..
I've been shopping around between the Hawk and XFL. Your XFL says 1500RMS, but every one i see are only 1000RMS. How do i find the 1500 model? I'd prefer the xfl over the hawk but the hawk is rated 1500.
A lot of websites haven't updated the information on the XFL. If you see one advertised, it's almost certainly the 1500 rms version. There's actually a newer version, the XFL v3, that's been out for about a month with a different cooling plate and different surround
Hey bro can you test out The NEW ALPHASONIK 800 SERIES venum 10 inch ? Rated at 1, 100 Rms @ 4ohms how good is it?? I used to have the Mayhem 900 series from alphasonik 12 inch that sub was a monster & amazing quality too a perfect balance between SPL & Quality bass it was the best sub I'd ever owned... I am wondering if this new 800 series lives up to the hipe
Hey Parker, I am gonna go with 2 Xmaxxx 12" subs. I am gonna pair them with a Salt 6. I was going to pair them with a Salt 8 but the installer said that they are underrated and that the 8 may blow the subs. Any thoughts???
What's up Brody Jenkins. Another good review frfr. I would love to see a couple reviews on incriminator audio specifically on the death penalty and the lethal injection. The judge sub would be freaking great to see a review on too but for sure the 1st 2 subs would be ideal imo. Also a couple more subs I would like to see is the massive audio BOA and the Hutchinson (hope I'm spelling that correctly) nfeb line of subs. They look pretty nasty in a good way and would like to see some good ol' Parker review goodness on it haha. Keep up the good work man cause I really enjoy watching your videos
So I have a question about the direct leads on this sub American bass 15 xfl 1522. One of my direct leads has been corroded all the way to the zip ties. Do you have any idea what I could do to change it?
I was hoping you can answer this question.... I currently have 215-in XFL 1544s in my truck wired parallel to the amp as one ohm.. if I buy a third XFL 1544 and I wire that parallel also to the same amp what ohms am I going to get out of it and can I wire it to 1 amp.. or should I hook it up to my other amp and buy a 1522 and wire that at 1 ohm.. I have a ported 3 15-in subwoofer box using the same volume chamber they are not separate Chambers
You should do what I do I have custom enclosures single 12s 15s and duals I constantly trying subs but with them pre and profabs not good enough for me lol good job Parker
Based on this review I bought a set of them today thank you for real world pushing them, love your videos, do vfl amp reviews please ,love you in Detroit rich fish
American bass started with direct leads and painting the silver baskets black when they started all of the reconing the blown XFL’s dealers were sending back of the first version of the subs around 10 years ago. I miss the originals with the push terminals, much easier wiring especially when doing 4-6 subs or more
@@GoshindoTanaka as big as you can afford/manage and as big as you can fit into the amp. There’s a few companies such as toolmaker and sky high make aluminum adapters for different speaker inputs to fit bigger wire into smaller amplifier speaker outputs, 8 gauge to 4 gauge for example I’ll link one below. The minimum ‘recommended’ wire length for any given wattage is a good place to start, then go a size or two bigger for good measure. If you google, “speaker wire wattage length chart’ it will show you the correct size for the amplifier power for your setup. I wouldn’t go any smaller than 12 gauge, regardless of the length!
I was thinking of going with these or the xv3 by sundown audio. I would rather pay that extra for high quality that will last long. Is it worth going for sundown prices or American bass is good enough
Parker can you test out The crossfire audio c7- v3 15"-D2 because they say that it has good Excursion just like Sundown Audio. and sound good, thank you Benjamin winklaar from Bonaire Caribbean Netherlands
