The American Cane System is a traditional martial art style that uses a walking cane for self-defense and improved strength and health. The cane is a practical tool because it can be carried everywhere in daily life, and many of the techniques learned with a cane can also be done with an umbrella, short stick, broom, or other commonplace objects. The American Cane System has 8 colored belt levels and ten levels of black belt. The style was founded by Grandmaster Mark Shuey, Sr., known internationally as "The Cane Master." The American Cane System and Cane Fu have appeared on the TodayShow.Com, CNN, Fox, the Cobert Report, in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and more. The American Martial Arts Institute is the East Coast Main Office for the Cane Masters International Association. All classes are taught by certified adult black belt instructors and Canemasters.
The American Martial Arts Institute offers traditional martial arts classes for men, women, teenagers, children (Ages 6-12), and children (Ages 3-5). All classes are taught by adult, certified black belt instructors. Our professional training facility includes three large training floors, changing rooms, staff changing rooms, conference rooms, an office, viewing areas, and more. Quality training equipment including mats, kicking bags, shields, and more add to the instructional environment. Improve self-confidence, balance, flexibility, coordination, and self-defense skills. We offer empty-hand martial arts classes (American Eagle Style), traditional samurai sword classes (iaido and batto-do under Takenouchi-Hangan-Ryu-Matsuno-Crandall Iaido) and cane self-defense (American Cane System / Cane Fu). We are under the direction of Grandmaster Clifford C. Crandall, Jr, 10th Degree Black Belt. Learn more at AMAI-EagleStyle.Com or call us at 315-768-1859.
