Went touring camping and walking around Burton on water & Upper and Lower slaughter area 😍 visiting ancient site's and houses in the hot summer sun was a fantastic experience. Stayed in Bath 😍 and visited my favourite place, a Roman villa and farm called Chedworth Roman Villa, very atmospheric feeling walking around the buildings.

PS. Sir Rannolf Fiennes was annoyed by the film crew damming the river in Castle Coombe so since he was, as you'd say Natasha, "a bad ass" in the SAS he blew it up with explosives he had laying around. He was kicked out the army and became an explorer, mountaineer and legend. Look up his interviews on his life.

19:22 This is why we all say to get out of London and see areas like this. Note. The Slaughters are best walked around after the tourist coach trips have left 6pm onwards on a sunny summers evening when the setting sun set's the stone afire. Empty and stunning.

I'm so lucky to live in the Cotswolds, just a few miles from Tetbury. Princess Anne lives just outside our village and you can see part of her estate from my garden. The red phone boxes are often turned into libraries but in our village it's been repurposed to house a defibrillator. The model village in Bourton also has a tiny model village in it, and I think that has an even tinier model village inside - it's also the only Grade II listed model in England. You can definitely drink coffee in a tea shop - but you might not get a wide range of different types of coffees/lattes etc to choose from. It's so beautiful here at Christmas but, depending on which part of the Cotswolds you visit, the higher parts often get snow and the steep, winding roads can be a bit treacherous in winter.

funny you should do this now, I just finished watching a series of vlogs from an American couple who walked 'The Costwold Way': a trail that stretches over a hundred miles. They made 8 eps, filming earlier this summer. I think you might like them, very young, very keen on capturing the scenery. If I knew how, I would give the link but alas, at my age, clever stuff like that is beyond me! Stay well lovely ladies, am off to watch your film now. Cheers from Brunei.

My Dad worked at a bank in Broadway for a few years around the time I started school. We lived in Winchcombe, a lovely small town close to Sudeley Castle. Although we left the area before my tenth birthday, it still holds special memories for the unique atmosphere of the villages and countryside.

I grew up on the southern edge of Birmingham so the Cotswolds was a very short drive away, the other places within easy reach for a day in the country were the Shropshire Hills, Malvern Hills and The Wye Valley which is the location of one of my favourite places Symonds Yat.

I was at Birdland Park last week, meeting up with relatives . It was cold! One place I expected them to show was Laycock. This village is arguably the best in the Cotswolds and has been featured in many films and shows: Downton Abbey, Crawford, The White Princess and Harry Potter. An additional reason for Natasha to go is Laycock Abbey. The home of William Henry Fox Talbot (is your mouth watering yet Natasha?). You can look out of the very window the first ever negative photograph was taken of. As you enter the Abbey grounds there is a converted barn with a small museum showing the history of photography. Both the village and the Abbey are now under the control of the National Trust and so open to the public. This is a must for you two.

The old pharmacy in Burford still has the traditional wooden drawers and shelves. You can go in to have a look - no entrance fee or purchase necessary. (I have a friend who lives in Burford and have been there many times. I have another friend who lives just a few miles south of Burford, down one of those narrow country lanes that would scare you rigid if you weren't used to them.)

I grew up in Stratford-upon-Avon and went to majority of these during my childhood. Bourton on the water is packed during summer with people having picknicks by the water. The water is so clear you can see the fish. Maybe do one on a reaction on Stratford-upon-Avon which Americans will probably have heard of.

First she said the Cotswolds were in the South-East, which Natasha corrected, they are in the South-West, and then she said they would go North to South, and went to Castle Combe, which is in the South Cotswolds. Oh, BTW, I don't need to go to the Cotswolds, I live there, and I adore it. If truth be known, she is listing all the tourist traps, particularly Bourton and Stow. Go off-grid and explore all the other little villages in the area, (and their pubs!) There is so much to see that most tourists miss.

Many decommissioned phone boxes, in rural areas have been repurposed as Defibrillator Stations. Communities raise a proportion of the cost (a charity meets the rest) and create a list of locals who are contacted when the device is activated; the nearest paramedics are contacted too. The community maintains the space and the red paintwork (British Telecom provides the paint!).

Just watched two Americans walking the Cotswolds Way in 9 days, worth a watch. There are some videos of the Cotswolds at Christmas, including Kirsten and Joerg's. It does look pretty. Check out right move site to have a look at some houses and the insides and prices, which are vey expensive. I saw an article a couple of years ago which said there are quite a few Americans living in the Cotswolds, so much so , that a deli has been opened specially catering for Americans. It said that with more people working remotely these days , they can live anywhere.

I am from Yorkshire but have spent many a happy hour in all these places. I am lucky enough to have a best pal who lives in Wiltshire and all these places are easily accessible. You must watch a video on Bath, in fact you MUST visit Bath, from it's beautiful architecture to the Roman Baths, Bath Minster to Sally Lunn's tea shop. Sally was an 18thC Heugenot who fled persecution in France and set up her Bake shop selling Brioche (first in the UK). The Brioche served in the tea room is still made to her recipe. I like mine with Cinnamon butter, Her original kitchen can still be viewed. Finally for Natasha, in any Tea Room your waitress will say ' would you like tea or coffee'.

I went to the Cotswolds about 17 years ago. The place is beautiful. However I felt very uncomfortable around the people. I don’t know what they’re like now, but when I went, i had some of the nastiest looks off people cos i had tattoos. I have so many more now than i had back then, but they didn’t make me feel welcome at all. The place is absolutely stunning tho. Typical chocolate box kinda place Also, talking about smart ducks. I have a pet duck who lives in the house with myself and my dog. Believe it or not, but I’ve been able to teach him commands, and he knows exactly how to respond to them. I had no idea ducks were that smart.

Is that tree real? 😂 England isn't a theme park dressed up to look old for paying visitors 😄... That's a 1500 year old yew tree that was probably a Pagan rituals site before the church was built next to it. That's usually the case in most church yards.

The Cotswolds is a beautiful area of England, I have been there many years ago but you don't need to travel far within the UK to see attractive towns and villages. I live in the Midlands and there are many picturesque places within an hour or so's travel. Ones that spring to mind locally are Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock, Cromford, Newark, Stamford (Lincolnshire) Eyam and Lincoln. You might like to check out the well-dressing tradition in Derbyshire where village wells are decorated with tableaus made from flower petals. The practice probably dates from the time of the plague in 1348 but could be much older.

Ladies I love your humour. If you are interested in more videos of the Cotswolds check out the videos of Kevin The Countryman. His videos are silent and he just takes a walk through various Cotswold locations.Strange the videoer said from North to South but statrs in Castle Combe which is in the county of Wiltshire at southern end of the Cotswolds. It's good seeing my local are in videos. Burford is about 30 minutes drive for me. Boutron-on-the-Water is very much a tourist attraction in the summer. How many years are you planning to stay when you visit? You'll need at leas five years to cover all the things you want to. Yes you can get coffe in teas rooms and no it is not frowned upon if you do. Business is business after all. It has been said that no matter how many times you count the Rollright stones you'll not reach the same figure twice in a row. If yoou visit Oxford whilst you are here visit the Eagle and Child pub and walk in the fotsteps of "The Inklings" (Rudyard Kippling, JRR Tolkien and Lewis Carroll) The pub is affectionately nicknmed the bird and baby.

There was a time in my military days that I lived just a handful of miles from Burford so often went there. Bourton on the Water being also close by was a regular day out in summer, with lots to do. My children when small, would paddle in the river there, and we would picnic by the riverside. I have also occasionally visited Bibury and Stow on the Wold. All year round, and in all weathers, these places never disappoint. All are steeped in history, and beauty. The off season advantage is simply less people visiting, so you get a more peaceful view of the place(s). It can get crowded in summer. If you love trees and nature, then the arboretum is worth a visit. As is the Cotswold Wildlife Park. Be well ladies.

There are a number of myths and legends surrounding the Rollright Stones. One being that if you try to count the Kings Men three times you will never get the same answer. It is said that a baker swore he could count them and, to prove it, he baked a number of loaves and placed one on each of the stones. But each time he tried to collect them up some of the loaves were missing, spirited away either by the Devil or by fairies.

Yeah you two birds need to react to Baroness Margaret Thatcher's speech to UN in New York in Nov 1989. She also invited Whippy icecream aka Dairy Queen

Bristol's not far from the Cotswolds, girls - even the furthest away northerly parts are only about an hour and a half's drive, while the southern end near Bath are only just over Bristol's eastern boundary! Hence if you stay in Bristol you could do some driving day trips and see a great deal! Red telephone boxes usually survive in conservation areas, but very few survive as working telephones - not least as the national telephone network has recently been abandoned in favour of calls taking place over the Internet. Hence they need to have access to wi-fi! Many communities use them for everything from foodbanks to libraries! The "Prince Charles" mentioned in the introduction to Tetbury is of course now the King - his country estate, Highgrove, is nearby, though not in the town as such. Likewise his sister, The Princess Royal's Gatcombe Park Estate, is a few miles in another direction. There used to be another Royal Residence - Nether Lypiatt Manor, which was occupied by his first cousin once removed, Prince Michael of Kent and his family, but this was sold off some years ago and the Prince and Princess now live in Kensington Palace, London, instead.

I love this channel's comment section. People are full of respect, and I always see helpful corrections or elaborations in response to the "video in video", which enhances the watching experience. Not all channels have an audience like this.

Oh I think if you two ladies pitched up in the Cotswolds A/ you would love it even more. B/ the local folks would end up loving you two. C/ you might need to sell up in the US and move lock stock and barrel over here. I’m afraid most of us Brits do take our surroundings a bit for granted as we see it or similar every day …it takes the eyes of a stranger to point out the things we should take a lot more notice of.

The video missed a lot out. It forgot to mention the capital of the. Cotswolds, Cirencester as an example. The map at the start of the video was incorrect too.

You can definitely get coffee at almost every tearoom and if they didn't like you ordering it, they wouldn't offer it.

I live in the Cotswolds and pretty villages are everywhere. they get boring after a while, once you have seen one, you've seen them all. However, saying that, I wouldn't live anywhere else.

That was a good coverage for the area but she made two major mistakes, Natasha spotted the first as the Cotswolds are in the South West and two the last battle of the revolution was fought in Somerset at the battle of Sedgemoor on Somerset levells, mostly peat moors.

You can definitely get coffee at any tearoom and no it’s not frowned upon in the slightest. I’d say more people probably drink coffee than tea, to be honest.
