When watching that bit when she is running on that ship, reminds me of watching the documentary Ant and Dec presented for the 40th year of the Princes Trust, when Charles came back from serving in the Navy was when he founded it, has some hilarious and great moments. Notably some videos of Charles when he was incredibly young, family videos essentially, is a bit of Edward VIII (though not sure if he'd succeeded his father George V by then) and his brother Albert (but called Bertie, had a horrible stammer, hence the film the Kings Speech was a categorical legend) later after his brothers abdication George VI in one bit of their home videos.

Great Video again. The Aberfan Disaster happened on 21st October 1966 when a Colliery Spoil tip collapsed during heavy rain. 116 children and 28 adults were killed when it when the tip engulfed the Pantglas Junior school which was situated just below it. You didn't seem to recognise the name Aberfan. It was a huge tragedy that could've potentially been avoided. My parents told me about it as they were young when it happened. Essentially what happened: Aberfan is a mining village in the Welsh Valleys. Decades of mining had left huge spoil (known as slag) heaps that weren't as stable as they thought. They had also made the heaps on top of a natural spring. There was heavy rain for a 3 weeks and the water didn't drain out of the heaps. On the morning of 21st of October 1966, one of the heaps (Tip 7) collapsed down the hillside. The first building it hit in the village was the school and it was 09:15 on a weekday. The school, and the adjacent row of houses, was buried under the slurry. 28 adults and 116 children lost their lives in the disaster.

I was tracking the last flight of the Queen, thinking it would not fly anywhere near our town. At the last minute, the plane changed course, flying close enough to see with the naked eye. By that day, I had lost the special people in my own life, one who had served as female 'Home Guard' in the 2nd World War , and my Mum, a Second World War baby. When you saw the queen putting a crown on Prince Charles in that film it was the princes investiture as the Prince of Wales at Caernarfon Castle. Caernarfon Castle pronounced if I can get it right in Welsh “Ciarr narvon” (don’t forget to roll your R’s) . Or in English Carnarvon castle. Put in Google where was Prince Charles’s investiture and it should get you there. It was another Royal crowning with a new crown using Welsh gold.

The thing that also really upset me about the day was Prince Harry didn't make it in time to speak to the Queen before she passed. Imagine not being able to say farewell to your grandmother. You two set me off crying a little when the young Princess Elizabeth was making her Children's Hour address. That of course corresponded with Operation Pied Piper - the evacuation of 800,000 children from high target urban areas like London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow. Thousands of trains shifted these poor kids to places sometimes far away from their parents to live with families in rural places and out of danger. This was all done in a few days before war was declared on Germany on the 3rd September 1939. Some of those kids were toddlers with a name tag attached to them and didn't have a clue where they were going. 😢 I'm very grateful to you both for your kind and respectful love for our nation, Great Britain, and I love seeing your shows. From a British Army Veteran. Love to you both and may the UK and the USA continue our enduring friendship.

You should certainly look at the Aberfan disaster. I wont say anything more than it will break your hearts. One of the most devastating stories in human history. And one of the very few times The Queen got it wrong, and completely misjudged the situation. Although she sought to rectify her mistake many times over the following decades by relatively frequent visits to this small Welsh mining community. Truly heartbreaking events took place there.

Not sure if anyone covered Abervan. A village in Wales, it was neighboured by a coal mine, one fateful day water had slowly been building up in a large slag mound above the village. It gave way, burying the local primary school, killing over 100 children. My father who was in the Royal Navy at the time, was amounts many servicemen tasked with retrieving the bodies of the children lost. Definitely a story you need to look up. This was the first time the Queen was seen to cry in public. On a separate note, I live very close to Britannia in Scotland. Sadly Tony Blair decided to take it away from the Queen and Royal Family.

Hello Ladies, thank you for sharing this, I didn't know about this. We are still missing her deeply in this country, she even made an impact on my 4 year old Grandson. His Nursery ( kindergarden) celebrated the Platinum Jubilee and had her flag flying and was sad when I told him that she had died and couldn't understand why there was a King on the flag. The Aberfan disaster was mentioned and you looked a little puzzled. This occurred in the small Welsh mining village of the same name on Oct 21st 1966, when part of a coal tip was washed down the hill behind the local school . It smashed into the school and engulfed the classrooms, 144 people lost their lives, 28 adults and 116 children. Her Majesty didn't visit for a number of days and this drew comments, apparently she stated that she didn't go, as she didn't want to be a distraction. She regretted it always and a deep attachment was forged and she visited the village and community a number of times after that, even giving donations privately to the community. Thanks for the videos, it is obvious that you have a great love and respect for the UK. I live on the Welsh border in a little town, where events have changed the course of England's history, even being mentioned in Shakespeare's Richard 3rd. Look forward to seeing your future videos

During her later years, people joked she had had plenty of time to organise her own funeral. During preparations, it was discussed how her coffin would be brought to London if she was to pass away elsewhere. She decided to use the same plane that's used to bring soldiers back from war zones, saying "if it's good enough for my boys, it's good enough for me". And so that's the plane that brought her down from Balmoral ❤ I noticed the blank look on your faces when the Aberfan mining disaster was mentioned. It was an absolute tragedy and the Royals still visit there regularly even though it was nearly 60yrs ago. Maybe it's something you could look into (tissues at the ready though!).

I worked for the G.P.O. at the time as a telephonist and it was the most harrowing time trying desperately to get a trunk line for family not living in Wales . To this day I am in bits when they show the memorial. May God help everyone involved and hold those beautiful children in his arms. R.I.P. darling children🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿💔😭

I miss the Queen everyday, but as I was always brought up being told, Kings and Queens may die, but they live on in memory and when memory has past, they live on in history, may God bless you both and the United States of America, God save the King 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧

Thank you for your ongoing support for the UK. I served in the Royal Navy 1966/1990 as an engineer. If I had to, i would do it again at 73. Both our country, plus others around the world, have our problems with the younger generations wanting to pull it all down. Some people call it progress, and a majority call it anarchy. Thanks once again. John
