the us embassy will fight for your freedom in any case where you are freedom is being threatened. Dumbest person award goes to you, my friend🏆@@neojason8349
Unless the dude is in danger, the government could do nothing. His life is not in danger yet, he was only held captive so to serve his punishment for violating that country's law. The US Embassy over there will at least help keep him out of prison until he finish serving his 12 years sentence.
Turks and Caicos is cracking down on gun violence, it is an issue we don’t want thats why the punishments are so severe. Check the laws of a country before you travel and check your bags period. This honestly should be common sense, why cry?
She had a legal prescription cannabis vape, and Russian law did not require imprisonment for 0.7 grams, it called for 15 days. Putin intervened because he wanted to leverage against sanctions impressed when he invaded Ukraine. Trump loves Putin.
Why is this guy making it seem like it is the country’s fault for enacting laws that protect it citizens. How silly can a person be to not empty their bags before packing for international travel. They got caught and deserve to spend whatever time in jail the crime dictates.
@@anomalocaris540 No. You are threatening the freedom of and individual with 12 years over stupid sht. That is not entitlement, that is crazyness on the governments part. So no playing that game
You better back off Britain or you won't be getting your 3 billion annual Aid package from the United States. You know people make mistakes 12 years is a stupid amount of time. If you want to make your point give them a $10,000 fine.
Yeah!!?? Well, you can take your military, naval and air bases out of Britain,so. And bring your pram with you when you go. Btw, what 3 billion?? Are you confusing Britain with a Third World Country or is Trump already donating to Putin's Russia?
People wishing that this guy gets locked up TWELVE YEARS over an inanimated object who was there by mistake when they were leaving the country have some serious instrospective work to do.
He was not 'behind bars' the US media is making this wat more than it is. That said, TCI, like many other small island states, suffer horribly from US policies on gun ownership. Time to play by their rules after all the suffering you have inflicted on them.
htf do you grab the wrong backpack? 2 lbs, 25 lbs... It's all the same. I'd be so humiliated by my own stupidity I'd be like, oh yeah, i put them in there. What you gonna do about it?! 🤣🍀☠️
Too be fair jails in Turks is like being on vacation, last I remembered, chickens, playing cards with guards and drinking beer… I remember thinking is it jail or a getaway spa visiting someone there once🤷🏽♀️ It was a while so who knows how it’s changed I’ll need an update🤷🏽♀️
@@jeanwinders9556maybe just don’t travel to a dictatorship that doesn’t even trust they’re own residents. The whole world says Americans are naive but the fact of the matter is we left for a great reason
@@Democratsbombedcapitol1971 America is the odd one out when it comes to gun laws. Generally you cant travel anywhere with ammunition or guns, thats standard. Turks has its own gun laws and licenses but it doesn’t allow you to just bring things in without authorization. Simple.
I’ve been in 28 cruises… at no point in time, could you arrive on a cruise carrying ammunition..or anything metal…. So I’m curious how he would be able to acquire ammunition in Turks when before you leave the ship to enter an island, your bags must go through security screening and scanners…. Make this make sense. Unless he purchased ammunition while there, after going off the ship but that doesn’t make sense either. Where would a tourist find bullets in a commercial staged area of Turks?
The dude had four loose rounds in his bag by accident, not like he intentionally did that. Plus 12 years when it sounds like he was trying to leave the country after having already spent a week or two there.
@@bobbabouy8537 Whether it was accidental or a minor mistake, the truth is just by having ammos over there means he already broke their law. His only hope now is to face trial and pray that his sentencing won't be the full 12 years.
@VOAN I'm not sure how the court system works over there, but in most, if not all, states, you also have to prove intent. Hope they have some semblance of a sane judicial procedure.
@@bobbabouy8537 That's not how intent works. Intent doesn't matter if the law is NOT having something in the first place. Him having the ammunition is an automatic guilty. His only choice is work out a plea deal, but like they said there's a mandatory number of years he has to do. The last guy got booked for 6 months.
Maybe he should be a responsible gun owner and keep track of his ammo. Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes. You wouldn’t want another country disrespecting American laws, so don’t distract theirs.
@@eshuorishas9987 He had 4 rounds of loose ammunition which sounds like they didn't catch it till he was trying to go back home, They trying to stop him from taking his ammo back home with him?
@@bobbabouy8537 The dude didn't know it was in his luggage but yes it seems they caught him with the ammos during the check-up and prevent him from leaving. Since he is still on the island when this happen, the law applies to him. If the ammos were caught before he came to the island then this wouldn't had happen.
It was an accident. It was a simple mistake. 12 years? Enough of the disrespect. Italy 🇮🇹 has done Americans horribly in their injustice system also. Other countries as well. I will always remember and I will always boycott Turks and Caicos 🇹🇨, if this man isn’t returned to his country and reunited with his family post haste. That should be a crime added to criminal charges against criminals, NOT unwitting tourists who obviously mean NOR POSED anyone any harm whatsoever. It used to mean something to be American 🇺🇸. We need to stick together again. And also, BAN ANY AND ALL TRAVEL TO “hostage diplomacy “ countries! E.g., Russia 🇷🇺 China 🇨🇳 North Korea 🇰🇵 etc. If they don’t respect 🫡 us, they don’t deserve our patronage y’all!!! 🤑🤠
