American Fishing Wire 7x7 & 1x7 Surflon Micro Supreme | ASFN Tackle Talk 

I got some of the 210lb (black) and 250lb (clear “camo”) 1x7 Surflon for night fishing for wary Sandbar sharks in the shallow surf. We have had multiple nights with 10 rod spreads, alternating between Surflon and Single Strand rigs and the Surflon outfished the single strand. 10 to 1. We’re using big 40-50cm dead eels and I’m convinced the baits are presented more naturally on the sandy bottom. VERY interesting your comment about their sensitivity to metal underwater, as those electrical impulses are a big part of how they hunt. We’ve landed Sandbar sharks to 84” and roughly 115kg with zero failures (so far) on the 135lb Surflon. Do you think the 210lb and 250lb test 1x7 Surflon is capable of holding up to some of the bigger specimens out there? The typical rig is a 18” surflon bite leader attached to a 10/0 Mustad Demon Perfect circle via doubled overhand offshore loop knot and double barrel copper crimp.

This stuff is great. Ive never had my line bitten off when using a 10" leader of AFW to my hook. Im just a little confused by the name "American fishing wire"? Here in American we use inches and feet and yards to measure distance. This product is using meters to measure distance? What the heck is a meter?

You forgot to tell the most important thing. Single stand wire 0.46 mm = 69 lbs test Surflon Micro Supreme Specifications wire 0.46 mm = 26 lbs test. Do I need to say anything else? There is no reason to use this wire unless you unable to learn haywire twist or fish in very dirty water for sharks or catfish
