Steve Lamos was the only member of the band I ever got to meet. After the LP2 release show in Chicago in 2016. Super nice guy. I literally told him not to quit on us again! 😂 Hopefully the band can find an adequate replacement and keep making music. But it won't ever be quite the same without Steve!

this is the last track lamos recorded on, at least according to polyvinyl's social media. really sucks to see him leave considering all his contributions to the band have been fascinating, tbh im not sure how the band will adapt with him gone - he was pretty integral to the sound

@@MetalHead4Life94 Probably just not enough bandwidth. He's a university professor... most professors outside of primarily teaching institutions work insane hours (I typically work 80-100 hour weeks), and it's really hard to find time off to do anything else.

It’s going to be really weird to see where they go from here. Lamos is integral to the sound. He’s really the foundation to it all. I hope they get someone who understands his approach and continues it.

Wow. This is the best they have ever been. I don't care what anybody says. If only those stuck on LP1 can find it in them to let go, move on, and welcome this progression. This mood, energy, emotion that is being captured is being delivered the best that it ever has by them.

I personally think their first EP is ever so slightly the best release they've done, but Never Meant is their magnum opus. It's revolutionary.
